Sunday

Good morning,. one and all, welcome to Sunday.  I've woken to a wet world this morning; it's obviously been raining a fair amount and looks set to start again at some point soon.  It feels quite chilly too.  Such a shame for all those hoping to enjoy street parties, etc, today.

I took a couple of flower photos yesterday.  One is now at the top as the banner and this is the other.  Close-ups can make a garden look an awful lot better than it really is!

Yesterday started dull and we even had just a few spots of rain although I only noticed because I saw them on the car windscreen.  Then it cheered up, out came the sun and it was a fine but rather breezy day - perfect for drying my washing on the line.  Cheers!

I did my shopping and - as almost always at Sainsbury's - get some extras.  Shocking.

I fell good and hard for this - it is so very pretty and, assuming we get some, will be perfect for the warmer weather to come.  Where does the word 'ditzy' come from anyway - I'm sure it hasn't always been a thing.

I also bought a fold up raincoat that was dead cheap plus some black trainers, seeing as Hotter can't provide.

And, having looked the dress up on Sainsbury's, I am miffed to see that it has been reduced online.  Grrrrrr.

I love shopping at Sainsbury's, even though I spend far too much there.

After sorting out and putting away, I carried on with the washing, etc, and got all that done and away by the end of the day.
I now have a list of meals to make this week.
I caught up with Sewing Bee and agreed with the elimination although I was sad about it - the person who went was so pleasant.

Sadly, downstairs is a bit of a mess - it is amazing how quickly I can make a mess - so today starts with a quick tidy up but not until I have finished my Sunday cafetiere of coffee and had my bath, etc.
I've already made a ham and yellow split pea soup using the stock from boiling up a small ham yesterday.  Ham stock varies so much and sometimes I don't use it but this was a good stock, flavoursome without being too salty.  I'll need to portion the soup and freeze it once it has cooled down.

Once all the general stuff is done, I will have a nice, easy Sunday.  I might go for a swim and I might not.  I'll see how I feel.

So that's today.  How do you plan to spend your day - do you have any Jubilee stuff to go to?
Whatever you do, enjoy and be happy.  xx

  1. Very pretty dress. You could order it online and then when it turns up return the one you have to the shop. Alison P

  2. The dress is just beautiful! Wear it and enjoy and don't worry about the online price. I really enjoyed watching the concert on TV last night from Buckingham Palace. It was a recorded version here in the USA since you are ahead of us in time. I love seeing Prince William with his family. Diana would be so proud of him, and Harry too, I believe, although I know some folks may be unhappy with Harry. Have a lovely Sunday.

    1. The concert was fantastic, wasn't it? Very well done.
Personally, I think the 'media' (especially the tabloid press) paints a far worse picture of Megan and Harry than most people feel. Personally, I think good for them for managing to escape that particular rat race. William and Catherine seem OK (outwardly, at least) about having their future so out of their own hands and that is good but Harry wasn't and took steps to change things. Good for him for putting his wife and family first. xx

  5. Not much going on here, just gardening and a walk up to the liquor store. You can't say I haven't got my priorities straight! You seem to have had a busy couple of days, Joy, so I hope you are taking it easy now.

  10. Lovely dress, as our Sainsbury's is too small to sell clothes I always look online at the latest TU offerings, and there is frequently a sale on..
