Tuesday

Good morning, everyone.  It's another dull day today so I'm putting on my positive pants and determining not to be mopey today.  It would be all too easy, I think, but my aim for this year is to be positive so . . . here we go!

It was nice to exchange a few words with Beth as she dropped off the computer chair back rest on her way home from her work appointment in Colchester.  It didn't look very comfortable with little plastic prongs sticking out all over but it's great.  Very supportive and comfortable.  Excellent.
It was a pack of two and I may very well put the other one in the car.

I should have done the rest of the ironing yesterday bit, frankly, I couldn't be bothered.  Naughty me; that's a priority for today.  An empty ironing basket always cheers me up.

And it was too dull and damp and cold to go out into the garden.  Another fail.  I think I'm slumping and I MUST snap out of it.

So - today.
ironing
bit of gardening
today's exercise (I'm doing the hundred days of exercise challenge)
the usual cleaning/wiping over/etc)
chat with Dad this afternoon
knitting - the hexagons are mounting up
reading - I want to find some likely recipes
starting a new shopping list

For Christmas, one of my students gave me a lovely little notepad with Joy's Things To Do at the top and then a blank checklist underneath - like this.

Time to start using it.  :-)

So that's today.  If I get all that done, it'll be a miracle, but may as well aim high.  What are you doing today?
xx

  1. I just settled nicely into my book last night when there was a loud bang. Thought Chloe (the cat) had knocked something over. She was restless and a bit of a pain earlier. Inspected all rooms, nothing found. Went back to bed, remembered this morning that I left a bottle of orange soda water in the freezer and sure enough it exploded! So what I'll be doing is clearing and defrosting the freezer! Doh!

  2. I've just answered a load of questions for an ONS survey and will make a start on cooking next. It's too wet to go out for a walk but what I really need is some fresh air to clear the cobwebs in my brain ... maybe tomorrow.

Enjoy your chat with your Dad today xx

    1. I've just done the gardening and feel a whole load better for being out in the fresh air, even if it was drizzling slightly. I have to sort my hair out now - it's gone all frizzy!

  3. I've done ironing this morning as like you I like an empty basket and actually I find it quite a soothing activity. Its dry and sunny here in Devon after several wet days so in a minute I shall round up the girls and we go out for a longish walk to get some fresh air and exercise. I was slumpy on Saturday - we had endless rain and I just felt miserable and cooped up but today a bit of sunshine makes all the difference.

    1. I does, I agree. It was sunny for a time this morning but, sadly, the clouds have rolled over and it is drizzling now. I'm glad I got the gardening done though.

  4. It's lovely, isn't it. I don't use it all the time because it would finish too quickly, but one days like today it's a perfect mood lifter.
It sounds so cold round your way. Brrr. I guess the snow is really pretty though.

  5. Love your little owl notebook. I am definately a lists girl and I find it helps me to focus on a few things each day. It doesn't matter if they don't all get done because there is always tomorrow. Been pottering in the garden this morning and plan to make some Rocky Road later which will probably disappear in short order.

    1. Not everyone likes lists be we two obviously do. I am sure those Rocky Roads will be greeted with great delight.

  6. I'm feeling rather mopey myself today, Joy. We have had yucky weather for days with snow yesterday and today. It's easy to feel mopey! I'll look for some things to do around the house that appeal to me. Have a good day.

    1. It's too easy to give into it, I think, at the moment. After all, there's plenty of reason to feel down and sometimes it is a battle. One worth the fighting though.

  7. Today, I am cleaning my kitchen and simmering the sauce for a pasta bake for supper. (half the sauce will be frozen away for a quick option for spaghetti later). My sister is coming to spend the night here because she is on call at the hospital. She'll also cuts hair. My hair and I are awfully excited to see her. We'll eat supper and if there is time, we will play a game of scrabble.

  8. You sound busy and very positive. I need to fix my bathroom curtain rod today. The holes are stripped.

    1. How fantastic - I'm looking forward to when I can throw open the French windows, get out the garden chairs and sit in the sunshine again. It's not as far away as one might think. :-)
