Monday: Blogmas day 5

Good morning, everyone.  So here we are are the start of a new week and hasn't it turned cold?  By the looks of it, the next several days will be colder with, possibly, some sleet to cheer us up!!  How delightful . . . not!  Right now it's just very dull and dismal.

Annoyingly, the latest cold has decided to stay around and make its presence felt.  Yesterday evening was a bit miserable and I was in bed and asleep before eight so, of course, woke in the night.  After some tablets and a drink, I got back to sleep and this morning feels sort of OK but . . .  I'm sure you know what I mean.

However, yesterday morning was really nice with Beth and Alex staying around until about midday.  Then I caught up with strictly which has now got to the point where they're all very good and equally in danger of going really.  I think this is the first year when I don't have a particular favourite and voting has become difficult - not that I voted this week, of course.

Today should be circuits at Lindsey's but I'm going to access it at home so I don't infect anyone.  Also, at home, I can do as much as I feel I can do and rest between times (if needed).  There's someone else who can't make it to the studio for different reasons so there will be two of us online, joining the four who can make it in person.  We're very lucky that Lindsey is so very adaptable.

This even, Dave and K (the financial lady) were going to come round so K could go through what she has planned for investing our money and I can give her the necessary money.  It's a nuisance because I've collected from my accounts to make sure I have the required sum to hand over but I've told them that I'm not so great and could be infectious and left it up to them to decide.  We can reschedule, it's not the end of the world, but a pain.  The sooner I can get dad's money working, the better.

The house i8s in a bit of a mess from the weekend and I left the kitchen in a right state yesterday evening so I've already dealt with that and set the dishwasher off.  The rest is the sort of mess I can deal with in bits and bobs - there are boxes to take back to the garage to get them out of the way, some ironing and various things to tidy up but nothing too challenging.

But first - time for another coffee.  xx

Today's Christmas music for you is a very simple children's carol from Graham Kendrick's 'The Gift'.  I did this with my school choir (I mean the one I taught, not the one I sang in as a teen) and I find the simplicity of it very lovely.
Candle Song.

  2. It sounds as though you are quite poorly with this cold and so soon after your last one. They are hateful aren't they, and like old buses often come along two at a time. I hope you are soon feeling better. xx

    1. It's not a bad as the last one, I think. I'm sure I will be fine in a couple of days. I'm very thankful for a nice, warm house. xx

  3. Oh I do hope you are feeling better soon, these colds are such a nuisance and do drag on. You sound cosy at home and I do admire you joining in an exercise class online.

  6. Hope you feel better soon! It was bloomin' cold here again this morning. It's getting harder to motive myself to go for a walk in the mornings especially when it's dull and grey

    1. Know what you mean - we work to keep the house warm and then go out and get cold. It's more cosy to stay indoors. xx

  7. I hope you'll soon be feeling better, Joy. Don't be so hard on yourself about the state of the house. Tidying will be the last thing you'll want to do if you are under the weather. X
