Tuesday

Morning, all.  It's not so sunny this morning (yet) but the clouds look pretty high at the moment so fingers crossed.

As Bing Crosby sang in that old, old film 'A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's court' . . .

We're busy doin' nothin'
Workin' the whole day through
Tryin' to find lots of things not to do
We're busy goin' nowhere
Isn't it just a crime
We'd like to be unhappy, but
We never do have the time . . .

. . . and that's pretty much my life at the moment, except change 'unhappy' to 'guilty'.  No, it doesn't fit.  :0)

It's a good old life really.

Yesterday, I did my bit of shopping, enjoyed circuits with Lindsey and the group and then, later on, Dave popped round to say they had completed and the house is now theirs, would I like to go over with him and have a look round.  There was only one answer to that, wasn't there, so I spent a most enjoyable half hour or so looking round a house with bags of character and potential.  They've got a good one there, for sure.
It's an enviable position to be in - they didn't need to sell their house before buying so they can take their time moving in.
I fixed with Dave that they will probably come over again on Friday for a take away; they have to confirm this.

On Sunday, when I was round for Alex's birthday tea, I took some photos of cuteness so here's a few for you to oooh and ah over.  Little Pete really is adorable - those ears!

    <sigh>

Today is another busy doing not-a-lot day.  It starts with Groove aerobics with Lindsey in a hall not so far away, moves on to a bit of housework before I have to wash my hair before Sharon turns up to work her magic on my mop of hair.

Then it's just stuff although I have told Dave and Anna when I am free all week in case then need any help - I think they'd like help moving all their books over and right upstairs to the attic conversion where there are some built in bookshelves.
And I must start thinking about what to take with me to Southwold too.

Have a great day, everyone.  Enjoy the sunshine, if you have it, and stay safe and well.  xx

  1. He's even smaller than I thought!
Dull start to the day here - need to do lots of gardening so hope it brightens up.

    1. He is very small, physically, but doing so very well and his big personality makes up for his small size. His two siblings are much bigger.
It's still dull here too. Fingers crossed. xx

  3. He is a cutie!

I'm busy doing nothing too. It's raining on and off but I'm not complaining as it's heavy enough to give the garden a much needed soaking.

    1. We had some rain but not enough to soak, just enough to dampen. Better than nothing anyway! xx

Busy day here with crumble to make, some crochet and a potter around the garden. Enjoy your day x

    1. It's a very nice house. Almost, I could be jealous. Not new but with plenty of character.

  6. Life's good isn't it and quite deservedly so when you get to our age..... not that we are getting old of course. :-) That kitty looks almost like a fox on some of those pictures.

    1. Doesn't he just. It's the ears, I guess. I wonder if he will grow into them or if they will remain outsized. xx

  7. Oh my goodness, Little Pete is precious!! And congrats to Dave and Anna on their new home. A new house is always so exciting! I'm enjoying my low-key retirement lifestyle although I do feel "guilty" on some days that I should be doing more. I wonder why? All those years of teaching have made me feel that I must be on the go all the time or I'm not being useful. Silly thoughts, though. Back to putting my feet up now!

    1. I think you have put your finger on it, Debbie. As teachers, there never was a spare moment, there was always something more to do and we felt guilty if we took time off - and that was so during the day, in the evenings, at weekends and into the holidays too. I well remember taking my laptop on holiday and writing reports in the holiday cottage. There was always a lesson to improve, more assessments to plan or evaluate, a classroom to work on, wall displays to get to Old Master status, etc, etc. And, for us, always the dreaded OF***D lurking somewhere in the background.
Small wonder it is taking time to gat out of that mindset.
