Wednesday

Good morning, everyone.  While is isn't what you would call a fine morning, it isn't actually raining so I will count my blessings and be thankful.
Yesterday was more like March or April than July.  It felt chilly, there were spells of sunshine but more spells of strong winds and lashing rain.  Not a day to spend outside.

I started yesterday with that planned shop to M&S where I stocked up with salad, veg and fruit.  My fridge looks very healthy now.  I spent most of the rest of the day in my recliner, feet up, reading or watching telly and doing a bit of kitchen work in between.  I slept several times (and still slept well overnight) and I think I feel less weary this morning so that's good.

Half way through the afternoon, Chris dropped off a beautiful bunch of flowers which was extremely kind of her.

Today starts off early with Jeff coming round at half seven to work his usual magic on the weeds!  Then, midday, I have personal training with Lindsey.  She knows I will be taking things very easy and carefully and she's building in some massage sessions which really helped last week.

Apart from those two diary things, the rest of the day is for pottering.  A bit of clearing, a bit of studying, some washing and ironing - the usual stuff, in fact.

After an online chat with John, he has decided not to come down this weekend.  There's precious little that he actually needs to come down for - just about everything can be done online.  There are a few things for me to sign but they can be posted down and back again.  Much more sensible than a seven hour drive each way.
I will be going over to Dad's anyway but maybe for a shorter length of time - maybe just one night.  I will see how I actually feel on Friday.  Perhaps a weekend at home might be better for me.

Have a good day, everyone.  If you had the weather we had yesterday, I hope all is well.  If you had sunshine - please do send a bit down this way.  :-)
xx

  1. We have had sunshine this week here in North Carolina but will be getting rain starting later today, I believe. I'm so glad you are resting and feeling better. I'm sure that working with Lindsey will be relaxing, especially the massage! See how you feel on Friday and whether you feel it is better to go to your Dad's or rest at home over the weekend. I have a break from tutoring this week as the child I tutor is on vacation with her family. That's a nice break for me, too! Take good care, Joy.

    1. I'm glad you are having a nice break, Debbie. We have a saying - a change is as good as a rest - and that can be very true.

  2. I'm glad you're taking things slowly. A pottering sort of day sounds just right and as for yesterday, you obviously needed the sleep.

I can't help with the sunshine I'm afraid. It's raining here and expecting thunder and lightning later on so you can have that if you want, but I have a feeling you will say no!

Hope you enjoy your time with Lindsey today xx

    1. Well, maybe you did help because we had some lovely sunshine later on and today looks promising.

  3. It's so important to take care of yourself at times like these; I'm glad you are resting. A seven hour drive is taxing. That's great that it can be avoided. Having a full fridge is good for the soul.

    1. It is poor John that has the seven hour drive, not me. Mine takes about an hour and a quarter which is why I was able to spend so much time with Mum and Dad post retirement. I glad I did.

  4. Sun vibes on their way ... we have plenty to spare! I wish I could be there Rain or no rain. July or August is when I usually manage to get home to see the family and to escape from the sweltering heat. The heat is here,33 degrees today. Good to hear you are resting and taking things slowly. Be guided by what your body tells you... take care Amanda x

  6. Sounds crazy, I know, but I would be happy to trade your weather for mine. Real feel of 47.7c today. Ugh. Fortunate to have a/c. Would not survive without it.

Good to hear that you have been able to rest. Might not be a bad idea to stay home this weekend if you can, especially since John won't be coming down. Give your body and mind a bit of a rest from the packing, driving and sorting. Take care. x

    1. Is the 47.7 F or C - I sincerely hope the former!

    2. Nope. Not the former. Now awaiting the imminent arrival of Tropical Storm Elsa and 70+mm of rain. Hope UK doesn't see it next week.
