Good morning!  I am very happy to announce that we are frost free this morning.  That means no early morning sun but so nice not to have to scrape the car today!

After I had posted yesterday, I went on FB to see a message from Lindsey saying she was feeling very poorly again so wouldn't be doing classes.  She sent us enough pre-records to keep us going for days so we certainly didn't miss out, bless her.  She says she will be doing Groove as normal this morning but I wish she wouldn't.  I think she needs several days off to recover properly but I doubt she will unless she really HAS to.

I popped round to Morrisons and got what I hope will be the last shop of the month.  As I put everything away (didn't take too long), I got out several boxes of spice kits, meal kits (Simply Cook), sachets, etc, and later on I sat at the PC and made a list of everything I have in that line before putting them all away again.  Oh, dear!  It's just as well I like spicy food, isn't it?  It's also just as well that JD Seasonings and Spice Queen products are all syn free (thinking Slimming World here).
I say 'oh, dear' but actually it's rather nice that I have so many really delicious meals I can make over the coming months.

I didn't get the ironing done so that's top of today's list.

The graphite powder stuff arrived so I got the defender lock from the garage door (it was a struggle to get it unlocked, I can tell you) and did the necessary.  A bit messy but it did seem to ease the situation a lot.  I have a few things to put in the garage today so I will find out if it really has helped then.

I was going to wash my hair this morning, but I noticed Sharon is coming to tame my locks tomorrow and I will have to wash it then anyway.  I'm not an every day hair wash kind of girl so I can live with it for one more day.
There used to be such a thing as a dry hair wash - a sort of powder that you applied and then brushed off and it was supposed to absorb the excess oil.  It wasn't very good, if I remember rightly.  Is it still a thing, does anyone know?

There's no message to say that Groove is off this morning so I am assuming it is happening.  After that it's ironing and then I shall start to think about what I'm taking with me to Five Lakes - I know it's not until the weekend after next but there's a nice pool and a well stocked gym and I do want to make full use of them as well as the other things that are on through the day.  Anyway, packing is all part of the fun.
At least, as it is fully inclusive, I don't have to think about meals/food to take/etc.

Well, better stop rambling and start getting ready for the day ahead.  Take care, stay safe and warm and have a fab day, everyone.  xx

  1. Good morning :-) Dry shampoo disappeared for ages I think, but it has made a comeback. I never got on with it back in the day, but I've tried the newer version and it's a lot better. Have a great day, Suzie.

  2. It was a little frosty here this morning Joy but now that has mostly gone. The sun is shining brightly and the birds are singing. All is good in this small corner today.
Haircut for me on Friday. We will both be ready for weekend breaks and holidays then :-) Have a good day x

    1. No sun here but no frost either so I'm not complaining! Lovely to hear the birds, isn't it? xx

  3. It's not too bad here today. There's even a watery hint of blue in the sky. Snowdrops are popping out and new Lupin leaves have appeared. Spring is on the way... but not just yet.

    1. It's lovely when the perennials start waking up, isn't it? xx

  4. Dry shampoo is a big thing again these days, more for the volume it adds to hair than for it's grease absorbing properties. I never got on with it as I had very dark long hair in my teens and twenties and it used to make me look like a badger, I could never get it all out of my centre parting!
I think I've washed my hair virtually every day for the last thirty years, but as it's so short it's naturally dry in fifteen minutes, which is a good job as I got drenched walking the dogs this morning. We've gone from sheet ice to muddy puddles and rain overnight.

    1. That's what I remember about dry shampoo. It made my hair feel worse, not better.
      I certainly don't need more volume. :-)

I've never tried a dry hair wash. :)

    1. It's been over half a century since I tried it - and that really makes me feel extremely old!!

  6. Graphite powder? I've been away from blog reading for a couple of days so I'll have to read back through to see what I've missed! Dry shampoo - always strikes me as rather a strange idea, I used it once because I had a free sample - wasn't overly impressed!

    1. For easing locks that have stuck a bit. My garage defender was becoming a right pain, both to insert and withdraw the key and to turn it. It was loads better today. xx

  7. I wish I could say the same. There was frost everywhere I looked this morning ... beautiful and white but I'm fed up with it now and don't want to play anymore! Most of it cleared in the bit of sunshine we had around midday but it's falling below zero tonight so it'll be back tomorrow!

Dry shampoo is still available. I used it for Ced when he was in hospital but we weren't that impressed with it then, although that was 10 years ago now so it may have improved.

I need to go through all of my foodie kits, Simply Cook, Spice Tailor and assorted other spice mixes, to work out a) exactly what I have and b) what ingredients I need to make up the meals. Most of mine are spicy flavours as well but are all the sort of meals I don't routinely cook but which are lovely to have occasionally. xx

    1. I have to admit, I am really looking forward to using some of them up. I think I'm doing a chicken balti at the weekend!
It really did totally defrost over the day, even in the corners, and so nice not to have to scrape the car.

  8. Yes, they still have dry shampoo. I bought some for Mom last year when she was bed ridden. It’s not good for you though and I think they’ve even banned some of them. I don’t like to wash my hair everyday either.

  9. I think I have seen some dry shampoo the last time I was shopping. Been years since I used it (and never that much). I am a not every day hair washer as well.

    God bless.

    1. Just out of interest, I must look out for some. I can't say it has ever impacted itself on my consciousness but that's not surprising seeing as I wasn't looking for it. Thanks, Jackie. xx
