Sunday

Good morning, everyone.  It's the middle of the night and I'm wide awake so the laptop is out and I'm getting my morning messages written.  I'm rather hoping I will be in dreamland early morning!

It was a wild old day yesterday - high winds and some rain although not as much rain as expected.  It's supposed to be nicer today; I do hope so.

When I looked at the shopping list, it was obviously a bigger shop and meant a trip to the main Tesco in the car.  Even then, we missed something but my brother (who's staying over this weekend too) got it in the afternoon so no harm done.

I got all the cooking done and there's several single portions tucked away in my parents' freezer now.

Today is more of the same really.  I shall make a bean and veg soup for lunch and dinner will be leg of lamb steaks with trimmings.  Nothing too complicated.

Have a super day, everyone, whatever you have planned.
xx

  1. Same here Joy, can't sleep as there's so much churning round in my mind. Maddening, isn't it? I hope we both get back to sleep sooner rather than later.

    1. It's very frustrating, yes, and I'm sorry you were awake too. I did manage to get a couple more hours sleep, did you?

  2. May the sun shine on you all today.
I hope that your brother is there to catch up with you all rather than because the worries you've mentioned over the last few visits to your parents are causing decisions to be made.
(No need to comment on this. Just wanted you to know I’m thinking of you.)
The right choice for everyone is often so difficult to make and sometimes one has to be a bystander gently encouraging. Sue

  3. I hope you managed to get some more sleep, Joy. We're hopefully off for an invigorating walk by the shore later, after being stuck indoors yesterday. But first, a healthy bowl of porridge and raspberries for me. X

  4. I'm probably jinxing it now but my sleep has been ok for the last few weeks. No idea why sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night or sleep through as my work days and home life are pretty much the same. Tis annoying though when your eyes ping wide awake at 3am!!

  5. I was up before 6am yesterday (I get up at 6am for work), despite it being my day off. I managed to get back to sleep last night after waking at 4.30am and stayed asleep until almost 7.30am (a lie in for me). I have a lot of domesticity planned today before work tomorrow. Enjoy your time with your parents!

    2. It's going to be busy as lots to do but at least I don't have to venture out. Though the weather has improved a lot since yesterday. We even have a bit of sun here today though it's very cold.

  6. Pleased you managed a bit more sleep - I find if I read a novel at bedtime my mind doesn't go into overdrive but if I look at planning my day in my planner at bedtime I lay myself open to a restless night.
Have a lovely day- it will be nice for your mum to have the family there together. x
    PS sunshining here ...at last

  7. We have blue sky and fluffy white clouds ... and a bitterly cold wind! I'll be staying indoors, reading, eating and generally having a lazy day.

    2. What is it that you call porridge? Is it oatmeal? Hope you don't mind my asking!

    3. It's porridge oats cooked with milk and maybe water and a pinch of salt so, yes, I guess it is more or less the same.
      I don't mind in the least. :-)
