Wednesday - second try

Morning, everyone.  I wrote today's blog and posted it but, somehow, it seems to have disappeared.  I must have done something silly along the way!  A bit of a nuisance really but here's blog mark two!

It was chilly and dull, then the sun came out for a time but now it is dull again and there's a stiff breeze.  I'm not sure how warm it actually is but if it's like yesterday, it will be very variable and my layers went on and off several times.

Groove was good and I didn't find it as hard as I expected so that's good.

When the window man came (can't remember his name but he called me 'Dave's Mum' anyway!!), he looked, listened, measured and will send me a quote.  No planning permission needed, phew.

I went online and investigated and now I have an Oodie heading my way.  I'd have appreciated one this morning when I woke stupidly early.

Today I have personal training and then, later on, I am attending the governors' meeting as an 'invited guest' so I had better keep my mouth shut and just listen.

Apart from that, it is just a normal sort of doing-not-a-lot day so housework, crafting and I do want to go through my winter knits as there are some I didn't wear last year and I know others could benefit from them.

Have a really good day and stay warm!  xx

  1. Oodies are brilliant. Huge, warm and comfy! I intend to make good use of mine over winter. Washing them is interesting, but they dry surprisingly quickly.

    2. I'll stick to natural fibres like wool. Thousands of the all in ones worn by youngsters years ago are now out of fashion and can't easily be recycled. Oodies aren't good for the planet as they're made from fleece. The manufacturers don't publicise this for obvious reasons! I look forward to knitting pattern publishers who produce a knitted version. Knitting such a large garment anyway will warm knitters up!

  2. Alan has two Oodies, one was supposed to be for me but I just felt swamped by it, so I've gone back to cardies, and he's claimed them both. But who knows if this winter is as cold as they say it's going to be I might be claiming it back to put on over my cardigan!

    1. It's good to have that option. I expect I will be using mine to snuggle into in the evenings. During the day I don't feel the cold so much. xx

  3. Joy, will you tell me how long the oodie is when you get it. I keep looking at them but it’s my legs that really feel the cold and would want it to cover them? I’m only 5ft 3” so not too long of course. Thank you. Catriona

  4. For most of us it's all about keeping warm without using too much bought energy isn't it?
Let's hope for a mild winter

  5. Well done on getting your oodie. I'm going to pair mine with some fleece line leggings but the oodie almost comes down to my knees so I should be warm enough.

Good news that you don't have the hassle of planning permission for the window so hope the price is good and you can go ahead.

    I've emailed you!

    1. I had to smile when I read this as I assumed an oodie was some sort of electric device kind of like a kindle.

  6. I bought a gorgeous fleece onesie last year and it will become my evening attire all winter long. Not ideal for popping to the loo but I can grin and bear it.
