Saturday

Morning.  Brrr, it was a chilly night round here.  Mt thermometer tells me it went down to just 6C.  I am SO glad I got the quilts changed over yesterday because I was toasty warm all night long.

Yesterday may have had a stiff breeze blowing but the sun shone brilliantly all day and it was a delight.  I got loads of washing dried on the line and the windows were open to let in the fresh air.  Just perfect!

The SW group was really good - people are really gelling and there were loads of ideas, tips and recipes shared around.  It was all great fun.

I managed to get the blue room sorted out and just need to iron a quilt cover to make it all completely ready.  I remembered that I had a spare electric blanket from Dad's house so that's now on the most used bed to keep any overnight guests warm.
While I was getting out a quilt cover, I noticed that they were both looking rather 'yellowy' and, as they don't get used all that much, I'm washing them and drying them in the sun.  Hopefully, that will freshen them up nicely.

I did my shopping at Sainsbury's although I didn't choose a very good time to go - the route there was jam packed with commuters and took about four times as long as it should have taken.  Coming home was loads better.

It was a very satisfying day!

Today starts with one of out SW group's occasional walks through the parks into town and out again.  It's sunny and I can wrap up well if it feels a bit chilly.
Once home again, I have a stack of ironing to be getting on with, some financial stuff to sort out and a holiday to plan for.

Also, I have taken the plunge and subscribed to Readly as I found a six week free offer via a vlog I follow.  I thought it would be nice for my holiday and I can access it on PC and on Laptop as well as the Kindle Fire, when I get that.  Actually, thinking about it, I also have a little thing that I got free when I got my mobile.  I must see if I can access it on there - I ought to be able to.
That's four and you can access it on five so that's perfect.  I'll probably take it off my desktop when I get the Fire anyway.
So I have that to explore today too.  Fun!

What are your plans for this Sunny Saturday?  xx

  3. Still hot here….Florida…been watching off and on on tv you tube the Queen. I cannot imagine standing by the coffin like the royal family and the others are doing. British strong indeed. Amazing. Amazing

    1. Thankfully, it's just fifteen minutes at a time, I believe, for all of them, soldiers and her family. I haven't watched the clip yet though so might have misunderstood that. xx

  4. I imagine the mourners are asked to move quickly because of the lines…I cannot get over the numbers…I do remember how sad we were when President Kennedy was killed…although the Queen was elderly, it is still a sad moment…

    1. No, sorry - I meant the formal groups around the coffin (the Royal family and the bodyguards - did 15 minute slots - hard to stay motionless for any longer, I should think.
The mourning public, paying their respects, just shuffle past slowly. Some stop and bow their heads for a few seconds while some just look as they walk past.
BBC is doing a live link but I'm not sure whether it is available outside the UK.

    2. Yes, I thought the grandchildren's vigil very moving. I couldn't stand still with head bowed on top of the steps right on the edge, and in those heels! I'd get dizzy and would need a pole to steady myself.
