Sunday

Good morning, everyone.  Well, it's a lovely day outside.  Bright and sunny and with a hard frost.  A perfect winter's day.

Thanks for the lovely good wishes yesterday.  In the early afternoon, I came home from my parents, partly because it's always 'nicer' to feel yuck at home but overwhelmingly because two vulnerable people in the nineties do NOT want someone going down with a cold (which I am pretty sure it is, just a bogstandard cold virus) breathing her germs all over them.

So today I have nothing much to do and no major plans for anything.  I will snuggle up in front of the telly and rest, thankful that I have no school work to plan and no marking, assessment, or anything else.  I used to get colds quite a lot but I think I've only had once since I retired.  Says it all really.

Beth might be round to work on the sewing machine which will be nice.  I'll try not to breathe over her.

Have a super day and stay warm and cosy.

  1. Glad you are resting. Remembering the 50+ hour weeks I put in teaching, often fighting off some bug going round the class, I just can not believe I did it. Hope you feel better quickly.

    1. I often wonder that too. But we did, didn't we? Goodness knows how much infection we created but that was the ethos. Still is.

  2. Think ai may be smitten too. It’s that soreish throat/hot ears kind of feeling. Take care.

  4. I am sure after a good rest you will feel a lot better - there are so many people coming down with this cold it is probably unavoidable. Take care x

  5. Have a calm, peaceful pamper day and just do as little or as much as you want to. Colds are miserable things but at least they don't usually last too long ... unless it's a 'man cold' of course! Take care xx

    1. I'm not fussed now I know what it is (not a man cold! lol) but I am glad I'm at home. No pressures. :-)

  6. It was a good idea to come home and rest. I helped my elderly parents, taught full time and raised our two kids all at the same time, I often wonder how I did it all! Like most of us when sick and tons to do, I just plowed through but did my best to keep my germs to myself. It was a big worry, though. Hope you’re feeling better very soon!

    1. Thanks. Things have started to 'drip' (for want of a better word) so things should improve soon.
And there's Doctor Who on the telly!

  8. Glad to hear it's just a cold. Seemed to get colds and viruses constantly when I was teaching, but since I've retired I've only had one bad cold in over 2 years. And no stomach viruses! Teaching in an elementary school involves lots of germy hugs, and I was always worried I would carry something home to my mother-in-law. Better safe than sorry leaving your parents when you're not well. Hope you continue to feel better and enjoy your day resting up.

    1. Oh, gosh, yes, those tummy bugs were a right nuisance. You could almost see them travelling from child to child sometimes!
I'm glad I am out of that!
