05-01-25 and the Eleventh Day of Christmas

Morning again, everyone.  Well, I was wrong.  We have had some snow overnight.  I woke at midnight needing a trip down the landing and, when I looked out, it was snowing like crazy and next door's children were all in the garden playing - which was a lovely things and no, they hadn't woken me; hearing aids out = no noises in!

However - just taken in hardly any light (sorry) and not only is it raining, it doesn't even feel particularly cold so it will all be gone soon but it does seem to indicate that maybe further north has had a shedload and a half.

Hoping you are all OK, where er you live.

Once the frost went yesterday, it was surprisingly mild until late afternoon when the temps dropped again.  We even had some watery sun.  Not much, I admit, but it was pleasant while it stayed around.  As for me, I was very lazy - yes, just lazy - and lounged around all do.  No washing, not clearing, no cleaning.  And it was very pleasant indeed.

I've just remembered, I did get those extra bags of cheap veg (carrots and parsnips) sorted out and they are  now all bagged up in the freezer, ready to be roasted or boiled, depending on what I need them for.  I kept a few nice carrots in the fridge because I do love  raw carrot in salad or just as a crunchy snack.

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas
I gave unto myself . . .
Three fizzing bath bombs
Two bits of  puzzle
One coffee pod
And a cho-co-late liqueur

I'd love to say the bath bombs came from Lush but have you seen their prices recently???
So I settled for good old Home Bargains instead and why not.  This is meant to mainly be just a bit of a festive extra, not a Main Event.

Here's today's bits of puzzle.  Just two more bits, one day's worth, still to go and I think I will keep it all together for a few days before dismantling it.

I need to catch up today so - little List says:
washing, etc
kitchen surfaces
meal plans
nativities away (really sad about that one)

There may be more but I really ought to get those done and sorted anyway.

Have you had any snow - I guess my Canadian readers have had plenty for sure - and is it hanging around?

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone; if you have to go out, please take great care and wrap up warm.
xx

  1. We only got a very light sprinkling of snow, and the rain has already washed most of it away. I'm more worried about the icy conditions later in the week. Xx

  2. We’ve had about three flakes overnight but very frosty again. I enjoy looking at all the smellies you have even unwrapping-I can only use Simple products and some lavender oil in the bath. Enjoy your Sunday-I really need to go to the sewing workshop for some interfacing but that means scraping the car so I may not bother! Catriona

    1. The Simple products are very good, aren't they?
I think I might have gone overboard with the smellies but they will definitely get used so that's OK.
The sewing workshop sounds interesting. Is it a shop?

    2. It is called Sew you can and it’s a standalone unit which Kay took over a year ago. Look it up on FB/internet to see all the classes she runs. It’s in Guthrie Street in Hamilton.

  3. We had snow overnight and until about 6am, but already as the temperatures rise it is turning to slush and it's changed to light rain. We'll be out of the white in an hour or so. You have just one more day to come of your 'twelve days', gosh that's gone by so quickly hasn't it!!

    1. It has totally gone here and the rain is lashing down. I need to do some china swaps with what's in the garden room but no way today!
The time has whizzed past, hasn't it? xx

  4. We had snow, but not much. Now it's excessively wet everywhere and the clouds are dripping incessantly.

  5. Hi Joy. I live right in the Center of Canada. We have roughly two feet of snow, drifts are much higher. March is our snowiest month. Having said the, when I got up at 7:00 this morning, the temperature was -32C with a windchill making it feel like -43C. Not too bad for here lol. Jean from Manitoba Canada

    1. Hi, Jean. Now that's what I would call proper snow. I loved the snow in the Arctic Circle last winter too - real snow. I am sure that, just like Scandinavia, you have the infrastructure to handle it too. And lol re the temperature comment!! We shiver when it touches zero!
      Do you like it?

  6. I am enjoying your twelve days of Christmas and it has got my brain cells ticking for next year. A different type of gift for a few family members that they won't be expecting. If I start now it might be ready in time for next year. Thank you for the idea.

    1. How lovely is that. What a good idea . . . thanks. I like the idea of a reverse Advent too, to support the local food bank. xx

  7. Today is my son's birthday, 46 yrs old, and he lives in Huddersfield with this family. I phoned him this morning and he was out walking in 6 inches of snow and did put some photos of it in fb. He wasn't doing anything else today even not attending church as the snow was so bad for them. I live in Norwich and there is no snow here.

  8. Temperatures are rising here. No longer does it feel like -40C, but with that rise, comes the predicted snow. Not much this time around, we are only supposed to get about 2" this coming week (more supposedly next week).

    God bless.
