Good old Premium Bonds. Another £50 in the kitty. Not world shattering but every little helps!
Here's today's two bits of puzzle.
The day started so well yesterday. I lifted the lid of my hearing aid charger and there was the bad one, green light shining brightly, fully charged and ready to go. I dunno what's going on there but it was nice to have them both in use again.
By the time to go over to Chris for coffee and chat, I had more or less finished the freezer sort-out/audit so I'm ready to go with the defrost. If the weather plays ball, I will do it tomorrow after SW group. I didn't start the cupboard but that's OK, I can do it another day.
I brought the decoration boxes down and got a number of bits away, giving the surfaces a proper dust and polish.
I have sorted out my meal plans up to next Friday so that's good. The rubbish went out and the kitchen has been tidied (again!)
I had to laugh though. I was really hoping to not need to go into Morrisons until next Friday but the dishwasher rinse aid light came on and I have no more rinse aid - I thought I had another bottle in the shed but I don't. So I will have to get some tomorrow and will stock up. After all, it's going to be needed used at some point or other, isn't it?
And . . .
I gave unto myself . . .
One scented candle
Two bits of puzzle
One coffee pod (cocoa truffle)
And a cho-co-late liqueur
(kirsch flavoured today)
Today starts with Slimming World. We're expecting it to be very busy today. Traditionally, it is the day when everyone returns after a Christmas break but also there might very well be lots of re-joiners and new joiners. So it is a case of keeping the queue moving without totally cutting out the friendly chatter. Wish us luck!.
Once that's done, I want to continue the clearing up and sort out the food cupboards, give the shelves a wipe down and get everything back in an organised way. If I can get that and the freezer defrost done, I will be happy.
I'm getting on with the crochet project. I've done all the small granny squares and the quarter squares. There's still plenty to do but getting there - and the ends are all sewn in!
Well, better go and get the day rolling. Have a good one, everyone. Take care, stay warm and be happy! xx
I need to shift a stone in weight but find that more than ever before I'm comfort eating 🙄
ReplyDeleteLovely to read about your activities and the rhythm of your days

It's a tricky one, isn't it? The more one stresses about it, the harder it becomes. Thanks - I'm happy that you like reading - it's rare that anything exciting happens nd it's just a diary really, on open diary!
DeleteA busy day ahead for you. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt's going well, thanks. I've just come in to warm up a bit while bowls of boiled water work their magic with the ice.

I’m stocktaking my craft materials so that I am prepared for 2025 craft classes. I’m also putting bits and pieces to the side with a view to giving away. Freezing today and it was treacherous underfoot when I went out to the drier. Catriona
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a pretty busy day for you. xx
DeleteIt has been so cold here. The ice on my car didn't melt all day. Perfect for defrosting the freezer, mind you! :-) xx
I probably should defrost both freezers while we are having the very cold weather we are getting. After all I could put everything on the deck in totes and it would stay nicely frozen. Good for you in planning to get yours completed.
ReplyDeleteI really like the colours in your crochet.
God bless.
They are gorgeous, aren't they. One big reason why I loke to roam in wool shops is because I just stand and soak in all the colours - they rejoice my heart.
DeleteIt's the best time to defrost. OK, so we get a bit cold but that's what coats and gloves are for, surely. :-)
It's Saturday morning and I did mine yesterday - I'm so glad I did as it's not supposed to be nearly so nice today and a bit warmer too. Yesterday was cold but so lovely and sunny. xx
First win of the year, well done!!
ReplyDeleteOne of many, I hope. :-) xx
