Tuesday

Good morning, everyone.  It's not nice out there - it's cold and it's wet (rain, not snow) - but inside it's cosy and warm, thank goodness.

Thank you very much for the lovely comments about the mice.  Here's today's offering which I think is the cutest yet.  I love that muff and the little collar (which you can't see all that well) is sweet.

And here's the collecton so far - I shall remake the snowmouse at some point as it was the first I tried and there are a number of errors!
Apologies for the bad lighting.

One more, I think, probably the little mince pie seller, and then I'll have a look at either the nursery rhyme or the fairy tale patterns and see what I fancy trying next.

That was yesterday in a nutshell - knitting and watching DVDs, mostly Poirot ones.

Today, first thing, I have pottery so fingers crossed I enjoy it as much as last week.  If I do, I think I'll book the Summer Term one asap.
Must remember to take my camera with me.

Apart from that, I have some shopping to do and then I can go home and stay warm.  I hope you're able to do the same.
xx

  1. They're so detailed, and must be so fiddly to knit! And you're so talented...and patient! They're absolutely delightful, Joy. Enjoy your pottery class.

    1. They are fiddly but the hardest bit is the sewing up as the elements are quite small, almost tiny at times, anmd well nigh impossible without a curved needle (which I don't have - is there such a thing, I wonder?)

  2. Joy! My goodness, those little mice are so gorgeous! Aren't you clever to be able to be able to make such lovely things! As Sooze has said, you are indeed so talented! The pottery sounds like great fun and what a good idea to register for the summer one, too. Have a wonderful day. It is absolutely freezing here, but it is winter so to be expected. :o) S. xxxx

    1. Of course they do! Thanks, Diane, I never thought of that. I will do a google search and see what I can find. Thanks.

  4. Hi Joy - those mice are absolutely delightful - I like the one with the muff too - I used to have one as a child - also love that tiny tiny lantern however did you do that?
I think they use curved needles in mattress making and leather work.
Hope you still enjoy the pottery. x

    1. You knit the black top and bottom and the yellow, stitch and stuff, and then use back stitch in black to mark the panes. Easier than I expected.

  5. You can buy curved needles, I have a set I bought ages ago but I can't remember where or why I bought them!

The mice are lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing what you make next.

  6. You shouldn't tell us there are errors in the Snowmouse! He is adorable. I love all of them. Don't think I have the patience to make something like that, but I do admire your talent. Hope you have fun at pottery. Looking forward to seeing your completed vase.

    1. He is cute, I agree, but when you've made it yourself, you can see all the mnistakes. It is annoying!
I think that, just like there are different intelligences, there are different patiences. Mine just happens to come out that way! :-)

  7. Thanks, everyone, for the info about curved needles. I went on Amazon and found some that I think will do the job. They're not curved exactly, but have a bend at the tip.
