Morning! More sunshine, yay!
Something very nice happened a few days ago. I was sent a photo that I couldn't share and one that I could but it wouldn't really work on its own.
To go back some years, after Dad died and his estate was all sorted out, I made a donation to the school that was for something that would benefit the staff. Time passed, the project was decided but other work had to be done first and that needed funding so, one way and another, nothing was done for quite a while.
But now it is completed and is being used . . .
I couldn't show you the first photo because it has people on it but I was in school yesterday afternoon for that OPAL training so I snatched a photo.
Isn't that nice.
Lindsey did circuits inside as it really was very hot and she has said Groove will also be inside today. It's still sweaty but the studio is a cool space so it will be much more comfortable.
So the day has started with a bit of dough stuff, I will do a short section of SET online with Lindsey before coffee and chat with Chris and in the afternoon I'll be off to Groove Not In The Garden!!
A nice day.
How about you? xx
If anyone needs a joyful retreat it’s our teachers. Where would all our scientists, doctors, radiologists, histologist, all our NHS staff, emergency services, come from, the list goes on. I think parents learnt a valuable lesson during Covid, that teaching is a skill! So teacher everywhere I hope you all have a joyful retreat wherever that maybe and thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful, thank you June. As a retired teacher, I totally agree with you. Thank you for that.
DeleteWhen I meet up with former pupils (or, more likely with parents in Morrisons, etc), the nicest thing they say to me is 'You believed in them', not 'You taught them well'.
That really resonates with me. xx
Forgot to say my name…June
ReplyDeleteHi, June. I love your comment, thank you. xx
DeleteThat is a lovely thing for you to have done, and a lovely name for what must be a well appreciated area for the staff. Your name lives on. :-)
ReplyDelete< chuckle > It does indeed. I feel so grateful that I was able to do it, thanks to my lovely Mum and Dad. xx
DeleteHow lovely for the staff (I can appreciate how beneficial that is to the staff and how grateful they must be) and how lovely for you knowing it is because of your Dad you were able to make the gift and keeping his memory alive in such a thoughtful and generous way and then named after you in a lovely way by the school. Regards Sue H
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sue. It does my heart good, if you know what I mean. It represents so much love in my life. xx
DeleteThat's a very lovely thing to set up, and I love the name x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
It's great, isn't it, and totally unexpected. So very kind of them. xx
DeleteA lovely gift from you, teachers will enjoy the area for some relaxation during their busy days.
ReplyDeleteMy day! yesterday was hot and humid, which brings unsettled weather, thunderstorm and heavy rain late evening. Woke this morning to colder temps, (which will not last long) and high winds.

Summer heat can be lovely but it can be very unpleasant too - I'm glad you have some relief, however temporary. xx.
DeleteWhat a wonderful gift this is!!
ReplyDeleteI have no words!!
It was the staff who had the idea. I just made the donation. But I was so pleased with what they decided on, I think it is perfect. xx
DeleteSuch a lovely gift for the staff. Well set up and perfect for relaxing.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Lovely, isn't it. They deserve it - they work so very hard. xx
DeleteThat is such a lovely gift you gave to the school. I'm sure it will be much used and enjoyed by all staff. The plaque is perfect.
ReplyDeletePeople do seem very happy with it and it is being well used. xx
