08-06-25 - day 2 at Five Lakes

Morning, everyone.  The sun is shining, it is just before eight o'clock and, from my window, I can see two hardy golfers practising bunker shots (I think).  Maybe the course opens at eight - I don't know, not being interested in golf.

It was a really pleasant day yesterday although I don't have many photos to show you as there are always plenty of people around and it is hard to get shots with few people there.

I did get this one, of the reception area.  You enter on the right and, if you can't register straight away or you're a bit early for your room, there's loads of comfortable seating around circular tables - all very welcoming.
(not great light though)
And I got this which is hardly a view!  I don't think anyone is recognisable, do you?
Anyway - my pre-dinner drink in the Lake View Lounge - Campari and tonic.  I dearly love Campari!

I did also take some food photos because why not?
This was a started from the salad table . . .
. . . followed by halloumi and bean tacos.  Very nice indeed.
And I had hunter's chicken for dinner.  Lovely chicken and the sauce was delish but where's the cheese on top?  More beans and fewer chips would have been nice but I am nit-picking here.  It was delicious!

In non-food news, I enjoyed my early morning swim, the bag decorating was OK but I didn't finish it because I left for Dancercise and I'm glad I did because it was good.  Not quite as good as Lindsey's Grooves but still good.

The salsa/cha cha class in the afternoon was pretty basic.  Fun but no sweat whatsoever.   However, the girl leading it was really nice and it was fun.

I enjoyed several quizzes, had some me time reading and doing a bit of crochet, had a little nap after lunch (goodness, I really am getting old) and, generally, thoroughly enjoyed the day.  I didn't go for any outside walks as the weather was pretty unpredictable.  Cloudy and humid at times although I don't think we had any storming.  Today looks much more like it!

I'm an awful lightweight though.  That Campari and a glass of white with dinner and that was me done.  If I'd been there with a group, I'd have gone to the show, etc, but I decided what I REALLY wanted to do was relax so I did, first in the Lake Side lounge and then back in my room.

On to today.  I've decided not to go for a swim first thing because I want to do the Wake Up and Stretch class so need to have an earlier breakfast.  There's a keypad quiz a bit later which is usually fun and between them I could fit in a swim, I think.
Then, this afternoon, there's a guided Bird Spotting Walk around Five Lakes.  I don't know how long that will take so I need to ask because I want to do the Line Dancing at 3:45.  And I would really love to go to the show this evening - I really enjoyed it last time.

At some point, I want to pack and, maybe, get some stuff to the car because I hate a rush on the last day.
Tomorrow morning I'm doing something I'm excited about but that can wait until tomorrow.

So there you go!  I think I will need a rest when I get home!
Have a lovely day, everyone.  Fingers crossed for good weather.  xx
