I have no idea if we had those predicted storms overnight. One of the advantages of hearing loss is that storms don't wake me and I have blackout curtain linings so the lights wouldn't be that bright either.
Yesterday was lovely. Slimming World first and then Alex came round for his lesson and lunch. He asked me how to make my semi frozen fruit and yogurt dessert so that's what we did - very easy and very tasty.
He can't come next week but the following Friday we're going to have a go at a sausage and bean casserole using veggie sausages so Beth can have it too. Hopefully, he will go home with some to pop in the freezer too.
This morning, I took a few more photos of the same things - runner beans and tomatoes. Sorry!!
I'm getting quite a lot of mini-tomatoes showing now to go with my mini chilli pepper.
Also, the corn is still growing fine, the cucumbers are still alive and as for the blueberries - they are just starting to live up to their name as there's definitely a blueish tint to them. Yay.
Today, I have to get to Morrisons early as I have discovered that I am right out of hay fever tablets. The rain seems to have settle the pollen for now but that won't last long and it is at its worst at the moment.
After that, it's on to Tower Garden to meet up with David and Karen for our walk. Looking forward to that.
I'll do a bit of gardening, I think, but, generally, I'm going to chill for the rest of the day.
What are your plans? xx
Morning, yes we did have rain and thunder last night. And as I type, the rain has started again. Won't have to water the flower pots today ! Deb in chelmsford
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks, Deb. I always mis this. Yes, we've had some drizzle again. I hope it won't stop the walk - are are very much fine weather walkers! Definitely no need to water. :-) xx
DeleteThere was a good thunderstorm and rain in Mid Suffolk last night. I just heard on the radio that somewhere in Kent had a months rain in a couple of hours with flash floods - so we got off lightly
ReplyDeleteYes, I saw some clips around and about. It's been really bad on some places. Thew rain was very much needed, of course, but longer and steadier would have been helpful. xx
DeleteWe’ve had some much needed rain overnight and this morning. Went to M and S food and Lidl and home by 10 15am. Didn’t stop anywhere for coffee so that’s a saving. Glad you had a lovely time with Alex. Catriona
ReplyDeleteWell done, Catriona, and I saw on Facebook you are back to crafting again. That is lovely! xx
DeleteOh we had a lot of rain during the night, it was beating down on my velux windows all night, waking me a couple of times. Now it's just on and off, the garden is thrilled. 😀
ReplyDeleteYes, that's for sure. I didn't need to water yesterday and today, while some of the pots need a bit, most doesn't need anything at all. The water butt is full too. Silver linings. xx
DeleteFinally getting a few flowers on the tomatoes, but they are very stunted this year. Yours look very nice.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you. I'm glad that you are getting some flowers at last - still hoping they pick up for you. xx
DeleteI tend to suffer with headaches as well when the weather is humid and muggy. I hope you will be ok if we have a spell of this sort of weather and that you were able to get your hayfever tablets.Take care of yourself.
ReplyDeleteAlex is learning a lot from you about cooking and it is lovely that he now has recipes he can do at home for himself and Beth.
That's the theory! Hopefully he will but time will tell. It's so nnice to have him over too. xx
