What did I do yesterday - well, not much really. I skipped Groove and I'm glad I did because too much moving about sets me off coughing. By Saturday, when I have today's Personal Training, things should be a lot better.
The lovely Sharon came and now I feel much more civilised again. She, also, was croaky and sniffly; her 'bad days' were over the weekend so she's a few steps ahead of me. We had fun having a good old whinge. There's little as comforting as a bit of fellow feeling! 😁
I made a couple of loaves of bread as I was nearly out. I have plenty of other products in the freezer - English muffins, bagels, wraps, etc, but I tend to eat more bread than any other. It's my own recipe (as much as bread ever is) with a mix of wholemeal, spelt, rye and white strong flours plus a couple of tbsp mixed seeds. This time, I also crumbled in some chestnuts, seeing as it is December. So delicious!
I do love my little angel. She is so very cute, I think - it makes me smile everytime I look at her.
Today's Advent of Change was for the Woodgreen Pats Charity and it says:
Today you have contributed towards a pet's essential first vaccinations while they wait to be rehomed.
I tend not to donate to pet charities but they do an amazing work and this one looks a goodie, working to rehome abandoned pets and pets whose owners can no longer look after them and are desperately worried about what will happen to them.
Today's M&S beauty calendar is the tiniest little pot I think I have ever seen. I know some people mutter about tiny sample sized products but I'm good with that - I'm trying to unclutter, not add to it.It is a 'rehydrating day cream' so it will certainly be used, starting today - and it won't take long to use it all up.
By the way, I gave Sharon day two's nail varnish and she was really pleased. So that's good. I told here there might be another for her in the New Year! She comes roughly every six weeks.
And here's yesterday's and today's advent puzzle. I'm loving this - the pictures are so old-fashioned and stereotypical. It gives me a nice, warm feeling.
Are they based on Christmas stamps from past years? The edging gives that impression, for sure. Does anyone know?
Moving on to today and it was originally going to be a very busy one with personal training this morning, Knit and Natter this afternoon and my annual Wreath Workshop this evening.
However, PT is on Saturday now and I think I will give Knit and Natter a miss as we are all a bit sort of squashed up in a room and tend towards the elderly end so - well, it just seems more sensible really. I must let Jan and Ginny know. Very disappointing but one must be sensible and realistic.
I will spend the afternoon working on a scarf I am making for a Christmas gift - just as I would, were I there - although I can't promise I won't be catching up on sleep at times too. :-)

I will do the workshop though - we are more spaced out and, per person, there is more space so I won't be coughing over everyone. .
What plans do you have for today?
Have a good one, stay warm and be safe.
Today's Advent Music Calendar is another old song, beloved of crooners everywhere.
This clip is the original, a snippet of the film 'Meet Me In St Louis' with the late and great Judy Garland.
I love this song.
I love this song.
It might be dull outside, but your festive header does make me smile each day. My plans for today are to wrap Alan's presents up ready to go under his big tree when he puts it up on Saturday. He's swamped with work but I'm not needed this week so I already have my decorations up now and it's starting to feel a bit more like Christmas. Oh, I do need to hoover, putting the decorations up yesterday has left bits of tinsel and glitter everywhere.
ReplyDeleteIt gets everywhere, doesn't it. All over the house too, if you're not careful!
DeleteI love wrapping gifts - it's so nice. xx
Sounds like you’re having Christmas fun despite the seasonal virus 😀
ReplyDeleteThe puzzles are pretty, hopefully someone will know about the stamps of yesteryear connection.

It's going fine, thanks. It's so nice to have plans . . . even if some of them don't happen. :-)
Deletexx
I've just finished work for the day (paid employment, that is ;)) it's gloomy and damp here, as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope the scarf is coming along well, and that's got to be one of the cutest angels I've ever seen. 👼
Isn't she sweet.
DeleteI'm actually working on the gonk - I decided to get that finished first but I have dug out the scarf pattern and the yarn, etc.
xx
Hope your cold soon goes.
ReplyDeleteLast year the colds and illness in the nearest bit of family were awful so I'm hoping for less this year now grandson, granddaughter and DiL are all at the same school rather than three different places.
The puzzles aren't from Christmas stamps although they ought to be as they are pretty.
Thanks, Sue, and for the stamp info. They are pretty, old fashioned pictures and easy to make up. xx
