Morning, everyone! The sun is shining brightly so fingers crossed it lasts longer than yesterday!.
Yesterday it started sunny, it was gorgeous walking to Groove, then the sun started fading a bit.
I got home, pegged out the washing, had breakfast and drove over to Aldi to ger this month's Food Bank donation. When I came out - it was chucking it down. Aaarrgghh.
Fortunately, back home, there wasn't so much rain on the ground and the washing wasn't that bad, just slightly damp. The tumble dryer sorted that out while the second load dried on the rack - I have that to iron today!
I haven't been caught out like that for ages but it's bound to happen from time to time.
I've now sorted out both vision and hearing appointments (long overdue) so that's going to add to an already expensive April. Has to be done and that's why I save every month.
The sourdough crumpet for breakfast was absolutely gorgeous. I may never buy another commercial crumpet ever again. It just needed warming up, no toasting required and under a 'fried' egg - wow!And I've decided to have a go at focaccia next week. This week I am making pizza dough for my Friday fake-away! I found this recipe that I can make using Thermione and is easily reduced to a quarter amount.

I've activated bubbles and, when she has risen, I'll have a go. I'm doing it today because I want to see how the dough freezes and I will use 50-50 flour because I just like wholemeal stuff.
Today, I am having a leisurely start. I wandered out into the surprisingly warm sunshine and snapped some of the hyacinths.
So pretty.
Later, I am dropping Beth off at the station as she can't take the Tiger (her wheelchair) and I have personal training in the afternoon. Apart from that, it's all about the housework - isn't it always?
Have a good one and I'm wishing you sunshine like what we have got (as Morecambe and Wise would say). xx
It's lovely to see the sun, but it can change so quickly. Actually, that makes our climate interesting, I think, though sometimes irritating!
ReplyDeleteYes - it's so very variable, and I like that too. xx
DeleteI had a fleece on first thing this morning, then it got lovely and warm outside so I swapped it for a t-shirt, then the sun went and it got really chilly so the fleece went back on. Now I'm sat wearing both, and contemplating a hot water bottle!!
ReplyDeleteI now have my electric fleece blanket on for the evening. Once the sun starts going down, it gets cold and this fleece has saved me turning up the central heating on many an occasion. Worth its weight.
DeleteWeather has been the same here today-misty start, sunny middle and then the heating on after dinner. Repair Shop tonight so that’s my viewing sorted. Catriona
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me! Typical March/April weather really. Enjoy your viewing! xx
DeleteYour breakfast looks delicious, Joy. And those hyacinths are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletePlease send some of your sunshine this way. It's been bitterly cold here today, although my washing has dried on the line, at least.
It's been lovely to enjoy a catch-up with all your news, this evening. Xx
Good news about the washing! :-)
DeleteWish I could send you some sunshine. Yesterday was beautiful although the evenings still feel quite chilly and my fleece isn't going into hibernation quite yet. :-) xx
Yummy breakfast Joy. It has been cloudy here for most of the day, sun came out for about 10 minutes. The weather forecast is calling for freezing rain and snow for the weekend and a few days into April. Living on the prairies of Canada one gets used to this kind of weather.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It was delicious, Jackie.
DeleteMore snow!! As if you haven't already had enough. You get more extremes of temperature, don't you. I remember your summers can be absolutely baking. xx
