Thursday evening

Hi, everyone.

Today has been another really nice day.  It was cloudy to start with but then out came the sunshine and I actually got a load of washing properly dried on the line.

After a busy start making those flapjacks . . .

. . . and a nice, big wholemeal loaf, Chris came round at ten and we had a great time.  She took the rest of the flapjacks (four - I made a small batch) home for her and Steve to enjoy later.

Then I just pottered in the house - washing, bit of cleaning, sweeping, etc.

Later on, I went into Teams for this SEND governors 'forum' (that's what it is called) which was actually really helpful and interesting, well worth the time.

Now it is evening, the kitchen is all clean and tidy and I am slowly starting to chill.  Sadly, we have had just a bit of rain this evening and tomorrow looks a bit dodgy but we will see, won't we.  I'd like to walk to SW but not if I'm going to get wet - I'm a softy!

I ought to get out the ironing board but I'm not going to, I'm just going to relax and see what's on telly, YouTube or iPlayer for a while.  How do you typically spend your evenings?
Sleep well and see you tomorrow evening.  xx

  1. Evenings for me are for catching up on blogs, forums, news and FB on my laptop, whilst husband clicks through loads of programmes on the TV. Very occasionally there might be something I want to watch! And then I go to bed around 9.30 and read for an hour (or until I fall asleep and the book falls off the bed!). Have a lovely relaxing evening, Joy xx

    1. I do that too, Sooze - read until; I drop off. It doesn't usually take long either - such a lovely feeling.
There often isn't a lot worth watching, sadly.
ANd thanks - you too. xx

  2. We've been watching Masters of the Air- a Steven Spielberg series. It's very good though also very heavy on how the Americans won the war. However, we don't watch dramas for accurate history. The last episode is tomorrow. x x x

    1. Indeed not. Dramas are for entertainment, not historical accuracy! Enjoyable though. xx

    1. They were delicious. I'm glad Chris took them home with her - far too yummy for my own good.
I do want to try them again but in the air fryer rather than the oven. Not today though. :-) xx

    1. It's been nice again here today - a few intermittent drops of rain and a real downpour while I was in SW but the sun had re-emerged before it finished.

  6. The flapjack looks really good. Yesterday evening and today we are looking after our eldest grandaughters small dog. He had an abscess and a tooth out yesterday under anaesthetic so was very quiet last night. Grandaughters was worried about him as she flew to Cape Verde on a works trip (jolly) yesterday morning before he had his op. Her partner has appointments in Bournemouth and Sherborne today so will collect him later. I spent the evening reading as there was nothing much on tv. Had little dog asleep on my bed all night, he is a Chihuahua Pug cross so hardly knew he was there he is so small, ours dog is a Lhasa Also and sleeps in a crate in my room.

    1. Oh, bless him. Hopefully he has stayed OK - I am sure dental pain is just as nasty for dogs as it is for us. I'm glad you were there to care for him. xx

  7. Those flapjacks look amazing, you've got me thinking about making them now. My evenings are usually spent either binge watching various drama or detective series or glued to my book.

    1. They were delicious and I'm sure I will be making them again when I have good reason. Flapjacks are just so easy, aren't they? I want to see how the same recipe does in Nellie. xx

  10. Those flapjacks look delicious and I know that they would be disappearing in short order in this house :-)
Isn't it lovely to have a day where washing can be dried outside. Nothing to beat that fresh dried smell.
