Wednesday

Good morning again, one and all.  Welcome to October.

First things first - Matt is not starting the boiler work today.  I am so glad a emailed him because his wife is in hospital for an operation next week and a family member is ill in hospital at the moment and it would be terrible if he picked anything up from me.  I totally agreed with him that deferring the date would be right and proper.

This thing seems to be easily caught.  I must have picked it up at Center Parcs somehow and I wasn't close to anyone for any length of time.
Thankfully, yesterday was start-feeling-better day and today even more so.  I won't be doing a catch up class this morning but I am definitely going to Personal Training this afternoon because it is what it says on the label - personal.

Instead of a busy day with Matt here, I have an empty day (apart from PT).  The airing cupboard is empty but it can stay empty, there's no need to put the towels back; they can just sit on the spare bed!
I've been looking around for some shelving that can go into the space that will be left by the immersion tank thingy and have found some likely looking ones - slatted shelves and I can put two one in front of the other for added depth.  Before I get them, the inside will need to be painted and I can't do that until the work is done.

So I might go out for a drive and look round a few shops - I need some fresh air and, Matt to the contrary, I honestly don't think I am infectious now.  Even the cough has subsided.  He is right not to want to risk it though.

Have a lovely day, everyone.  See you tomorrow.  xx

  1. That was really good of you to let Matt know about your illness so that he could protect his family. Also glad you are feeling better. You are right about Center Parcs-the swimming pool is the most likely culprit. Catriona

I really do think it was CP. Just one of those things. xx

  3. I'm glad that you're on the mend, and it was good of you to let Matt know. Better safe than sorry. Would it be an idea to get someone in to paint the inside of the cupboard for you and actually put fitted slats across the full width of it. That's what I have always done in the past, you get so much more usable shelf space that way. Just an idea. :-)

    1. My idea at the moment is to use the two fitted slats that are already there and have removable shelving for where the immersion tank is at present. I just feel it gives me more flexibility in terms of best use of space.
I have time to think about it though. There's so much pipework in there that will go that there's no point even thinking about painting until that's all sorted. Thanks - you always give me something to think about and I appreciate that. xx

  4. Glad to hear you’re starting to feel better. It sounds like a sensible plan to give Matt time to reschedule, and a little solo drive and fresh air sounds just perfect for a gentle reset.

  5. I know after being stuck inside feeling ill that I go out and stand on our deck and breathe deeply. Then once on the mend I go for a solitary drive as well.

    God bless.

    1. I do some deep breathing too. It really helps so much. It's also good when relaxing in bed at night - what I believe is called box breathing but also counting backward at the same time. It stops my brain from rushing from one thing to another and helps me fall asleep. xx
