Good morning, all. It's Friday!! Next Friday it will be Halloween and the last day of October - eeeeek!
Thankfully, Benjamin turned out to be a storm in a teacup round here. Yes, it was was over Thursday night and a bit of Friday morning and yes, we had some strong-ish gusts of wind at times, but really nothing to cause any concern. No pots tried to escape and the egg chair stayed put.
I know it was far, far worse in other areas and I hope you weren't too badly affected.

I took a few photos of the Joseph's Coat blanket. I know it is gaudy but it's cheerful and the perfect size for throwing over my lap of an evening or over my bed on top of the duvet. Ad I had a lot of fun making it too. xx
It was all made with leftovers of yarn apart from the maroon for joining and the border so it is what it is and looking at the whole thing, I can see where things could have been arranged differently and of a different way to make each square but that's OK. It's meant for our eyes only!
The yarn for the Quiet Skies blanket might arrive today. I used Wool Warehouse - even 40p-ish off a ball makes a big difference when you're buying for a whole project. I'm not great with coordinated colour so fingers crossed it works.
It was a homey day - I had a lovely chat with Chris, I got the ironing finished, I fed the Christmas cake, I did the usual stuff, I sort of tidied the kitchen and I did something that might be a bit stupid and I might tell you what in due course if it turns out to be not stupid after all!!
And the window cleaner came after the rain had stopped and the sun had come out. Lovely!
Today is Slimming World and weekly (very small - ha ha) shop but no cookery lesson as Alex can't come. Instead, I hope to start off a sourdough loaf for Sunday and to make the not-sausage rolls.
And then I can chill.
And then I can chill.
Have a good day and stay nice and warm. I gather that cold air is heading our way so I'm wearing layers at the moment.
See you tomorrow. xx
See you tomorrow. xx

I'm loving the pick n mix blanket and the edging colours are just perfect! You definitely do have an eye for colour!!
ReplyDeleteHad to put on a jumper last night and I was really glad I did as it was six degrees when I drove home at 10.00. How did that happen in the balmy south all of a sudden? ;-)
The temperature really has dropped over the last 24 hours. Benjamin's sting in the tail! The heating has clicked on this morning and I'm not sorry! xx
DeleteAnd thank you. xx
DeleteThe blanket is great, so cheerful, I love it. I'm doing bits of my Storyteller blanket, it's only about as big as a pocket handkerchief at the moment - slow and steady wins the race 🤣 I keep telling myself!
ReplyDeleteWe have a very blustery day today but sunny intervals which warms the house up nicely, this evening for telly watching the Oodie will be out.

Slow and steady, definitely!! Everyone's pace is right for them. I don't think we got much wind and, yes, the sun really warms inside nicely.
DeleteMy oodie is on this morning. So cosy. xx
Love the blanket and it used up stash which is a bonus. Catriona
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! I still reckon that yarn reproduces when I'm not looking, mind you!
DeleteAnd thank you. xx
So beautiful. Warm greetings from a retired lady living in Montreal, Canada ❤️ 😊 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Linda! Welcome. You must laugh when us Brits moan about the cold!!

I don't think your blanket is gaudy at all. It's bright and cheerful, and just want you need on those grey and rainy days of winter.
ReplyDeleteHi, Janette. Thank you. Yes, it's cheerful and will be great when the Christmas decorations are out. Bright and cheerful! And then January too, when the days just go on and on and on . . .

While the blanket is colourful it all goes together so very well. Not in the least gaudy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
It makes me happy when I look at it - I guess that makes it a winner. Thank you very much.
DeleteI'd like to try more 'random' patchwork-y things now - after the Quiet Skies blanket and then the Advent project.
