After a really horrible, wet day yesterday, the BBC thinks today will be much nicer round here. That's good. A bit of sunshine warms the house up very nicely, doesn't it.
Mind you, yesterday might have been dreary outside but, as hoped, it was a really nice day inside. I got a few chores done and then enjoyed chilling with Kindle and crafting.
In the evening I had a visit from my neighbour who came round bearing gifts - a little thank you for feeding the hedgehogs! So kind.
Today starts as usual with Coffee and chat - I'm over to Chris' today and look forward to seeing her newly decorated front room. I gather her little grandson might be there too - that will be a treat!
Then I plan to drive over to the Riverside Precinct and see if I can get my Christmas wrapping paper. There's Home Bargains, Matalan and HomeSense so, surely, between all three there should be something. I'm also wondering if HomeSense has the usual Spode Christmas Tree china in. Every year they have some and every year I add something to my collection but the best bits do go quickly. Because I use my Christmas china all through December and up to Twelfth Night, I don't feel all that guilty.
Also, I guess I can look for more reverse Advent items in Home Bargains. They have super stuff for not as much as other places.
Assuming there's parking, of course . . .

Once home again, there's more of the usual, including some washing and bed changing (followed by more washing) and I may as well give the carpets a going over (I really do like my new cleaner!). And my desk needs sorting out yet again. All the incoming paperwork just gets piled up and when it starts falling over, I tidy it all away. Ho hum!!
I've just done my end of month finances so, apart from a few bits and bobs, that is all done.
I gather there is a new Mary Berry series out as she celebrates her 90th birthday - what an icon she is, to be sure. I've missed the first one, I think, but it will be on iPlayer, so I want to watch that.
So that's my day today. Hopefully it will be both fun and productive. Better get going on my other social media stuff. Bye, everyone, and have a great day. xx
First frost this morning after a rather damp few days. I must do some sorting of the study this morning and put everything away where it belongs. I may do some more sewing while it’s light but first I need to wash and dry my hair! Enjoy coffee with your friend. Catriona
ReplyDeleteNo frost here yet but it can't be long.
DeleteDid you get your sewing done? xx
Thanks for the reminder about the Mary Berry series. Incredible lady who deserves all her success, I still use her baking recipes more than any other authors.
ReplyDeleteHope you find your wrapping paper, I can't get my head around the fact that it's nearly November!

They are safe and sound and very, very sensible. Like her, I guess.
DeleteAnd it IS November as I answer this. November 1st! Eeeeek. xx
Coffee and chat is a good way to start your day. It sounds like you'll be prepared in plenty of time for Christmas. Xx
ReplyDeleteI am hoping so. December looks like being quite busy so the less other stuff to do, the better. :-) xx
