The one at the back is sourdough but I have a lidded tin, cheap from the ubiquitous Temu, the kind designed to make 'sandwich' bread. If it rises enough, it goes square - perfect for toasties, sandwiches, etc, while still keeping the sourdough vibe. This didn't quite rise to the top; you can see the little brown bit where it touched the lid, but now I know how much dough to use, I might try it with a yeasted loaf next.
And the scoring is loads better!
One for Lindsey and one for Beth.
Sue, you were right, I found an almost finished crochet project, a rather gaudy, autumnal coloured jacket made with sunflower granny squares and nearly finished. There's just the borders to do.
So I will finish it and might wear it when I go to the Knit and Stitch show next month. Last year I saw loads of fab hand made things people were wearing - they looked great!

Groove was really good again yesterday and this morning Lindsey is doing another Groove class with online access so I'm catching that to make up for the one I will miss in a fortnight. Then I have personal training this afternoon.
I also have to catch up with Sewing Bee - I'm trying very hard to avoid finding out who went out because I like them all.
Today's positivity is to thinking on all the good things I am looking forward in my very fortunate and easy life in the next couple of months.
Nice things I'm looking forward to.
1. Val is coming round tomorrow and I am going to hers in October
2. My weekly coffee and chats with my lovely friend, Chris.
3. Another meet up with the lovely Mandy.
4. Fitness classes - yes, I really do enjoy them and am very lucky to have access to them.
5. Five days at Center Parcs.
6. A free Thermomix course in town - Discover the Flavours of Romania.
7. Modernising my boiler, etc. Yes, it will be chaos and costly but great when it's done and dusted and should cut the gas bills somewhat. After all, what are savings for?
8. Another free Thermomix course in town - Level up the Flavours (multi cooking using the Thermomix 7)
9. The Knit and Stitch show at Alexandra Palace (and an extra state pension next month so I can spend a bit!)
10. Christmas Cake Day (aka remembering my Mum on her birthday) - I love Christmas Cake Day and it's why I can never NOT make a Christmas cake.
11. Beth's birthday
12. Planning my Advent Calendar
(and that takes me to the end of October)
How about you - what good things are you looking forward to?
Have a lovely day, stay safe and be happy. Bye. xx

The bread looks amazing! Beth and Lindsey are very lucky.
ReplyDeleteYou have lots of lovely things to look forward to. And I'm starting to think about autumn now. 🍂
We can feel Autumn in the weather now, can't we? Things are changing. xx
DeleteYour bread looks professional standard, I'm full of admiration.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to making a Christmas cake too, I've suddenly got into baking again ( won some firsts at the village show and it's gone to my head 😆)

Bread looks brilliant and I’m sure it will be enjoyed by the recipients. Hoodie on today as it’s definitely cooler. Catriona
ReplyDeleteYes, it really is. We've had some heavy rain here and it feels just a bit chilly.
DeleteThank you. Lindsey was very nice about my sourdough. I will have to take some with me to Center Parcs. :-) x
The bread looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteLots to look forward to!
Loads - Maybe it is very 'worldly', to use an old fashioned term' but it's so nice to have treats coming up. xx
DeleteYour bread just keeps getting better and better. Lots to look forward to I see.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Getting the regular practise has really helped. It's a commitment so I have to do it. A lesson for life and living, I guess . . .

Lots of lovely things to look forward to then. Time with family and friends, holidays and days out as well as a new boiler.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to our holiday which starts in just over a week.
