Friday

Morning, everyone.  Friday begins and I think the weather is supposed to be picking up a bit.  Hope so!  Mind you, I have noticed that it's feeling a bit chilly mornings and evenings and I reckon I will be getting my snuggle hoods out soon and giving them a wash so they're ready to use.  They're so comforting and cosy.

I had a really nice time with Chris over coffee yesterday morning.  Then I had a chilled day tending my back which is playing up a bit.  I think it's just getting back into exercising again, it's not like when it was really bad but I'm being sensible.

Further to yesterday - I went on Amazon and bought the Christmas puzzle I had my eye on last year and which can go away until December and I saw a not particularly expensive Twinings tea bag calendar which I snapped up.  OK, a bit expensive for twenty four tea or infusion bags but better than buying a box and then wasting half of them because they don't get used.  This way I might be able to find a few I really like the taste of as well as the aroma.  Do you find the smell is way better than the flavour for a lot of these fruit teas and indusions?

Today is a bit busier.  It is Slimming World first, then I'm doing a smallish weekly shop (I'm working on using what I already have, you see) and then Alex is over for burger day!!   He's making a meat one for himself and Jack Monroe burgers for Beth.

And then - chilling, I think.

Have a great day, everyone.  The weekend is nearly here.  :-)  x

  1. I think you have just encouraged me to look again at the advent jigsaw puzzles!! I enjoyed the last one I did despite the missing pieces. Or I might make a row of cardboard houses for the mantelpiece. Happy cooking with Alex. Catriona

    1. I love the idea of the houses - they would look fantastic on a mantlepiece. xx

  2. It sounds like Alex's repertoire is really expanding. Does he write the recipes and methods that you teach him down, or have you got a print out ready for him when he arrives?

    1. It's a mix. I print out recipes and we make notes if needed but the Thermomix guided cooking ones are all accessible through the machine's link to Cookidoo. I'll post a link about guided cooking in today's post, if I can find one. xx
