Still - not to worry because today is easy.
I can now say that yesterday's meal out was a 'surprise' meal for my lovely friend, Diane, who hit eighty last week - not that you'd know from looking at her, would you? We went to a pub near hers and Lindsey picked her up. Oh, it was such a lovely time and, seeing as this has been posted on Facebook, I'm sure it is OK to post it here too.
I didn't like to say earlier because, while I don't think she reads in here, you never know.
And, for an afterthought, the hanging baskets are doing very nicely too. I've been good at watering them - it does help, surprisingly (imagine tongue in cheek emoji here, please).
Because Beth and others were coming round in the evening, I tidied downstairs and did the dusting/sweeping so today I don't have to do it - yay.
Of course, there is always upstairs and I do need to change the sheets anyway but there will be time to catch up on some sleep, which will be nice.

I think the very worst and hardest thing about dress making is cutting out the paper pattern in the first place. These multi-sized ones can be so fiddly and take ages as I don't want to spoil their multi-sized-ness. I haven't quite worked out my size yet anyway.
so I can get on with that, can't I?
Better go and start the day - it's the last circuits class before September and I'm not really feeling up to it but don't want to miss it.
Have a lovely day, everyone. See you here tomorrow. Bye. x

Happy Birthday to your friend Diane, looking good as does the cake! xx
ReplyDeleteIt was delicious. Very rich though. Lindsey's husband finished off my icing. :-) xx
DeleteLovely photo of Diane and the cake looks delicious. Your hanging basket is stunning and well worth the effort of watering it regularly. Hope you feel better as the day goes on. Catriona
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's easy to forget them hanging there. xx
DeleteThe Birthday celebrations sound lovely. You're so right about your friend, she doesn't look 80. Nice dahlias pic too.
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
We had a lovely time, eating, chatting, laughing - gorgeous. xx
DeleteBoth Diane and her cake look lovely. I too have nearly dug out a couple of plants recently before remembering just in time that they are perennials.
ReplyDeleteIs there no 'tongue in cheek' emoji in Blogger? I should have a look it would be one that I would use a lot!!
I don't think there is but maybe I just haven't ever found it. xx
DeleteSorry you didn't sleep well, I hope you make up for it tonight (or even this afternoon!). No way is Diane 80 - I hope I look that good at that age (assuming I reach it!). Your dahlias are lovely - I always used to think of dahlias as 'old people flowers' so never had any.....now I have a few! xx
ReplyDeleteI have had a couple of longer snoozes and I think I will sleep really well tonight. I have always loved dahlias - Dad used to grow them very successfully. There are so many different kinds nowadays. xx
DeleteHappy Birthday greetings to your friend Diane on her special birthday. It looks like she enjoyed her meal and the cake looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you didn't throw out your dahlia because it has reflowered in such a prettty pink. Just need to keep those pesky slugs and snails away now.
Hoping you take things a bit easier today as you had a bad night last night. I hate those kind of nights. Take care x
I've had a very easy day and a couple of snoozes. I'll sleep well tonight, I am sure. xx
DeleteYour friend definitely does not look her age. Happy 80th Birthday to her.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks, Jackie. I agree, she really doesn't. She's such a lovely lady inside and out. xx
