I slept better though, even after naps on and off through the day. Phew.
I think I will peel and slice the rest and add some pickling stuff that I have just knocked together - apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, bit of salt, bay leaf, fennel seeds, black peppercorns and a bit of preserved lemon - that mix being decided by what I am able to lay my hands on.
Goodness knows how it will turn out but I just want a quick something to try with a quick turn around!

Oddly enough, this morning it isn't bitter at all anyway so there you go! I've done it anyway (since writing the above) and will have a taste for lunch.
Today is the second day of an easy weekend so, obviously, I have started off a sourdough loaf and will start another one later on - one for Lindsey and one for Beth.
Apart from that, I have nothing planned apart from finishing off the ironing so I will see where the day takes me! :-)
Bye - see you tomorrow! xx

That looks delicious! I love sourdough too! Hope that you have a good Sunday…it’s still very hot here in South Devon. 😁
ReplyDeleteThe sun's just breaking through here but it's still lovely and fresh.
DeleteThanks - it was a very tasty lunch. xx
Nice challenge.
ReplyDeleteI'll try to participate,
very clever!!
Hi, Katerina. Hope you are well and thank you. xx
DeleteGlad you found a 'plan B' for your slightly bitter cucumber.
ReplyDeleteI did - and it was really tasty! I've eaten the lot (not that it was much) and I'm keeping the pickling liquid for another go. xx
DeleteLooks really lovely. I can't wait for things to cool down here a bit. The heat really drains me.
ReplyDeleteIt is very draining, I agree. Siestas are definitely the way to go when it is like that. If we can, of course. xx
DeleteYour meal looks just awesome.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks, Jackie. It tasted great! xx
