I had a lovely time with Chris. We went to a nice pub in Writtle and both had small plate Caesar salads. I wish more places had smaller plate options, it's so much more manageable. We also talked an awful lot as we always do.
After a good Slim Win chat, I went to bed, fell asleep soon enough but woke at three and have been awake ever since, Urgh. I could quite easily to back to bed now except that it's Slimming World. Maybe I will have a snooze later on, I'll see how it goes.
After three coach trips close together (Brighton, Rye, Evita), I now have a couple of months without one. The next one (assuming it happens) is to the Knit and Stitch show at the Alexandra Palace in October.
I'm happy with that - sometimes one just wants a quieter life for a while.
Yesterday I also got round to updating my finances, something I should have done at the start of the month. Last month was more than a bit spendy so I'm on a restricted budget for August which is quite spendy enough anyway with both the car and boiler services scheduled for next week. 😟
Have a great Friday, all. Stay cool and remember that water bottle. Bye. xx

It is nice when 'small plates' are offered in cafes and restaurants isn't it. I used to have to get my Mum a child's meal, and before they got used to us at the garden centre I would always be offered a wristband for her to play in the soft play area ... she never had a go, I don't know why. ;-)
ReplyDeleteAww, that poor little cucumber. :-)
ROFL!! How very - er - sweet T0 be honest, small plate meals are a normal portion to me. There's nothing small about them!
DeleteI know - poor wee thing. Maybe I should have left it, just to see what would happen. :-) xx
My late husband was a very bad diabetic, so to control his food intake I always used small plates for both of us, it looks as if there is a lot of food when it was full. I still use that small plate.
ReplyDeleteYour garden is doing well with the veg, except for that poor little cucumber.
Hot a humid here again today, it's summer in Ontario, Canada so can't expect anything different.
Yes, it can look absolute piles of food but it really isn't. Mind over matter! It's going to get humid here in the next few days, so they say. It seems that when we get heat, we generally get humidity too. xx
DeleteAwww, the little cucumber - so funny!
ReplyDeleteAlison in Devon x
Yes - poor wee thing. :-) xx
DeleteI like the idea of small plates as I can’t finish big portions any more. Lovely sauce-thank you for sharing the recipe. Catriona
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome. xx

ReplyDeleteGod bless.
