Saturday, 10-01-26

Good morning, people all!  So, here we are, a third of the way through January.  This month usually drags and drags and feels as if it's never going to end but it is whizzing by for me at the moment.  I'm not sure why but it is very welcome - the days are already getting longer, I can open the curtains earlier and draw them again later and when I came out of Lindsey's personal training session on Wednesday, it was still light.

As expected, yesterday was a dull, wet, dreary sort of day, cold and a bit windy.  However, I was so thankful that the really bad weather either passed us by round here or it had abated somewhat before reaching here.  Peeking out, the ground looks almost dry so that's good too.

Alex didn't come over yesterday (for very good reasons) so I had a bit more time to do stuff.  I picked up my new Slimming World recipe book that I got free because I took out a countdown, so I had a bit of a browse through that and noted some recipes to try this week.

Today I am out with Beth later on, going with her to an appointment, but earlier I must start off Lindsey's sourdough starter and then I want to go to Iceland to spend that £10 I won at SW last week.  

Yesterday I got some info about the Crete holiday that I want to go through so I will print that out, go through it and make a few notes about clothes, what to take, etc, so I know what I need to do/get, etc.  I know it's four months still but these things have a habit of catching up and taking us by surprise.  I also want to sort out a few dates for Diane to come over (she's on this holiday too) so we can but our brains together.
Is this the sort of thing you do or are you more laid back than I am?

Apart from all that, it's the weekend - mind you, after retirement, isn't it always the weekend? - so I will chill, read, craft, maybe go for a walk, weather permitting, and just enjoy life.
