Thursday

Good morning, all.  I'm in a bit of a rush this morning as the car is due for its MOT at eight thirty and straight after that a friend is round for lunch (so I have to tidy downstairs as much as I can!).  Then we are off to look at Greensted Church which is supposed to be the oldest wooden church in the world.  Long time readers may remember that I have already been there once, ages ago, but Jackie hasn't and I would love to revisit.

Later on, this evening in fact, it's my first SW weigh in meeting so my fingers are crossed for that.

Should be good!

  1. Morning Joy, hope the car sails through ok, enjoy your lunch and church visit, and fingers crossed for tonight (although I'm sure you won't need any crossed fingers or luck!).

  3. Thanks, Sooze. The car should be OK and the rest of the day, though busy, though be fun.

And thanks, Diane. Ouch - new tyres are expensive.

  4. Day 1 of SW - good luck at the weigh in tonight. Will you stay for the whole meeting or leave as soon as you've been weighed. I've tried SW a couple of times but didn't really get on with it. I do better with eating what I want and calorie counting like mad so I don't overindulge!

  6. In my years of commuting from central London back to where we used to live in Galleywood I picked up my car at Hainault and drove via Ongar. A number of times, when I felt in no rush, I did a quick left turn at the start of the High Street to look in on Greensted Church. Enjoy your visit with your friend.

  7. Eileen, thanks. I shall stay although how much I will hear is debatable. I can see it's not a plan that would work for everyone but I think (hope) I'm getting on with it more or less OK. Tonight will tell.

Sue, it passed!!! There are a few things that need sorting but not MOT fail things.

Philip - commuting from Galleywood to London must have been very tiring. We found the church a very gentle, peaceful place and spent ages just sitting and chatting quietly. It has been lovely.
