16-02-25

Morning, everyone.  Are you having a good weekend so far?
The lovely Friday sunshine didn't hang around for long, sadly; yesterday was back to cold, grey, gloomy and damp.
It felt so cold that we didn't do the walk.  In the end, there were only two of us so we decided to walk over to a nice little tea shop and have a coffee and chat instead.  David also had a bacon and egg sandwich which looked lovely but I polished my halo instead.  I have to admit it was tempting and, when I have some bacon in the fridge, I might plan it in.  It really looked delicious.
For me, it wasn't just the cold, it was also that the way was going to be really rather muddy and puddly and I'm not one who relishes that sort of walk - hike really, I suppose.
Once home, it took me a while to warm up again and the heating stayed up all day.

Lindsey posted a bit more info about the Spain holiday.
Old Spanish water mill Exclusive hire 8 guests Full board  Transfers & private minibus all week
Exercise workshops (optional)
Excursions including; star gazing at planetarium, gourmet meal and wine tasting at local Bodega,
Sound bath and exploring local historical sites.
Should be great (if it comes off).

Today, I have very little to do.  I don't need any more bread yet, I have made my tea for tonight and dinner is from the freezer so I just need to prep some veg.  I do have a couple of loads of washing to do - the load I hung out yesterday sort of dried and got finished off in the dryer so I have an empty rack.

I'm thinking I might drive over and take a nosey at some shops, assuming I can resist temptation.  I have started making a crochet cushion cover so I can get on with that.  I'm not sure I fancy a walk; it depends on how cold it feels really.  I'd like to go to Hyde Hall but it is always cold there, on a hill, and since I lost the weight, I feel the cold in a way I never used to.  When it's a bit warmer, I will go.

So - a bit of a nothing sort of day but that's OK.  I always manage to find something to do and, if all else fails, there's always a bit more decluttering to do.  It feels never ending.  😏
Have a good day yourself, whatever your plans, and do stay warm and dry.  xx

  1. A walk over to the nice little tea shop for a coffee and a chat sounds like such a good alternative to a freezing and muddy walk. I've actually got all the bedding out on the washing line today, it's bl**dy cold but very blowy, so it's better than having it draped over the airer for two days.

    1. Definitely nicer although I missed the walk - if it had been nicer, we;#'d have done it.
It wasn't windy here, just cold and damp. xx

  2. The holiday excursion sounds right up my street. Have you tried a sound bath previously? I’ve been considering this as there’s a lady who advertises locally but am waiting until it takes place in our village as the sessions are always in the evening and I no longer drive at night due to an eye condition.

    1. No, I haven't. In fact I'd not heard of it before. I must look it up. I hope an opportunity comes up for you soon. xx

  3. We are in the midst of a snowstorm here in Ontario Canada. I can't wait for spring!
It would be interesting to hear about your slimming world journey. Did you lose a considerable amount of weight. We have Weight Watchers here but not slimming world. I am not sure if their programs are that much different?

    1. Brrrr - it's cold here but not that cold and we rarely get any snow.
I did a sort of 'story' on my other blog, the SW one. I'll see it I can find it and post the link in the next blog. There are some differences and I prefer SW but I believe different things work for different people and, providing it is healthy and balanced, we all do us . . . xx

  4. We are back under severe cold watches. Hopefully the long range forecast for a warming trend come later in the week are true. I sure hope the holiday in Spain happens it sounds lovely.

    God bless.

    1. It makes me feel cold just reading about your weather. I really hope it moderates soon.
It does sound lovely, doesn't it, and bags of time to save for it so that's good too. xx

  5. I like a good walk, but I must admit that the last couple of days I've struggled to warm up afterwards! Usually I find that taking a nice warm bath does the trick as it warms you from the inside out. It only got to -10C here today and with the windy conditions it felt even colder. I am so tired of winter!

    1. -10 sounds awful, especially with a wind. No wonder you feel so cold.
Spring can't be far away now. xx
