Good morning and welcome to a slightly chilly start to a new week. The sun appears to be emerging and yesterday was a beautiful sunny day here, despite what Beeb weather said first thing.
I can't really call these photos garden happies as such but when I popped out to reset the thermometer, I saw my spider, busy at work, so grabbed the camera. He's not very big but he's quite a handsome fellow.
Yesterday was such a lazy day, you wouldn't believe it! I knitted and crocheted, planned meals, crocheted and knitted, read, watched events of telly and generally chilled out all day.
The blanket is going great guns although I have reached the part I had such trouble with last time and have rather forgotten how I did it so I've got out the practise one to have a good, careful look. Fingers crossed. I worked it out last time so I am sure I will this time but I can always sub something else if needs be.
Today, the only thing in the diary is circuits which, I hope, will go better than last week. Apart from that, it is just the usual, homey stuff plus watching the procession in Edinburgh this afternoon.
Have a good day, whatever you have planned. Stay well and be happy. xx
I had a spider exactly the same as that, he had built a web right across the front of the shed while we were away, as I needed the tomato feed from inside the shed, I felt really horrible having to destroy a good section of his web to gain access. I did manage to avoid one section that he had between the supports and the fence so he might still be able to catch some lunch. Today feels super Autumnal here, cold and wet and it was dark until 6.30am, what a difference.
ReplyDeleteThey are works of art at this time of the year, aren't they? Very clever. xx
DeleteI knocked my spiders to the ground this week. 😂
ReplyDelete< grin > Could you hear them shouting 'meanie'? xx
DeletePicture of ongoing blanket?
ReplyDeleteWill do! :-) xx
DeleteMy day is much the same as yours but minus all the wool related activities! I've just watched the ceremony of the keys at Holyroodhouse and will watch the procession and service at the cathedral later on.
ReplyDeleteWill we be treated to a photo of the progress on the blanket, please? xx
I thought the service was very impressive and the music was haunting lovely. xx
DeleteThe Queen…kind
ReplyDeleteThat's what people have been saying. I bet she could be fierce when it was needed though. xx
DeleteThat is quite an impressive spider. I don't understand people with spider phobias - they are harmless except to other insects. Hope to see more of the ceremonies as the week progresses.
ReplyDeleteMostly they are, anyway! I suppose that is the thing about phobias - they are rather unreasoning, that's why they are such a problem.
DeleteThere's more today , I think, as Her Majesty's coffin leaves St Giles and is flown down to London this evening to end up in Bucking Palace for the night. xx
