Good morning! It's dry outside, not too cold and will probably be a 'nothing' day, like yesterday.
I took my walk to Morrisons, around and back again with a bagful of veg so now I am well set up. I got a few extra bits and bobs but nothing too much. The next shop will involve heavy tins of beans, tomatoes, etc, so I will take the car and it might very well be Aldi.
Guess what didn't get done. That's tight - the ironing! Beth turned up and needed the floor space to lay out fabric for an order and then we started watching old films - first Oliver and then The Sound of Music. Once they were over, Beth had left and I'd had dinner, I really couldn't be bothered so I caught up with the film of the ballet Romeo and Juliet (lovely dancing, scenery and acting and the music is just wonderful) and then with Christmas University Challenge. I'm enjoying the latter very much. Quite apart from seeing famous names and faces, I can answer more of the questions!
Today, after the usual routine of sorting out the kitchen, blogging, etc, washing and getting dressed, the day starts with ironing. It really HAS to. Then I will sort out more of the decorations, etc. The bunting comes down today and, after ironing and airing, the Christmas tablecloths, etc, go back up on the top shelf.
Things really are getting back to normal now! Have a lovely day, whatever happens.

I'm feeling very chuffed - as I did MY ironing!....there was less than I thought
ReplyDeleteI get quite surprised at some of the questions on the Xmas UC that they can't answer
Well done, you! Maybe I will find the same.
DeleteYes, some seem very simple but I guess we all have pockets of 'specialist' knowledge. When I watch Pointless, I always think that if I know it, everyone does and it's got to be high, but that's not always the case.

Its amazing the amount of knowledge you pick up over a lifetime some useful some not so useful. I do know the date of the battle of hastings but it has never been much use. LOL
ReplyDeletelol - I know what you mean.

I have so much to do - did very little yesterday and need to make up for that now. Have a good day. x
ReplyDeleteIt just mounts up, doesn't it?

Well, my Christmas decor has all been put away and my snowman/winter decor is out on display. I don't do much ironing at all but you inspire me to find something to iron! I have to admit it is therapeutic to iron and the result is always satisfying! Have a happy day, Joy!
DeleteIt's not bad exercise eiher, especially if you juggle a bit - twist and turn and move. :-)

I've just this minute put away the Christmas decorations and I'm putting my feet up with a coffee before summoning up the strength to take the tree outdoors. You've also reminded me I have the ironing to do. 😃
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your day. X
Well done with the decorations and good luck with the ironing.

Do you ever buy veg in Aldi? I'm wondering what their produce is like now - we used to buy our veg there but it would be mouldy within a couple of days so we stopped. I was wondering if things have changed.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the ironing, my least favourite chore. I'm finished for the day and will start back on the family tree research after lunch.
I watched the Romeo and Juliet ballet yesterday ... simply beautiful!
I do. Maybe I pick carefully but I have had no more problems with Aldi f&v as I have from any other supermarket. I guess it depends on the store manager.
DeleteThe ballet was really lovely, wasn't it? I've kept it to watch again.

I'm enjoying the Christmas series of Uni Challenge, too! And I can answer more of the questions. I wonder if they are less difficult for these older contestants, even though they have degrees of many kinds and have or have had prestigious careers? I also like to answer before they do, of course!

It's much more relaxed too with plenty of chuckles. I like that as well.
