Congratulations, Eileen - you got what it is!
The original photo - you collapse it to save on storage and the lid just sits inside it.Un-collapse it.
Weigh in your kernels - I find 20g is a nice amount for a snack for me but, according to the instructions, you can add up to a quarter cup (50g) and I suspect you could make more than that; it's quite a big bowl..
You can also add butter, salt, etc before popping. I didn't.
Put the lid on - it sits on a ledge half way down.
Bung it in the microwave and start popping it. The instructions don't say how long or what setting. I did it on 600 and it took about 45 seconds before the pops were less than three seconds apart.
This is what I got on first popping
What was left.
After second popping there were just 3 kernels left. I chucked them!
A really nice snack.

A really nice snack.
I've tried it sprinkled with salt and also sprinkled with Sugarly and both times it was really nice. I do like it plain too.
Sixty-ish calories or three syns
Needless to say, this is in no way a sponsored post - I don't do that.
This is the link to what I got, just in case you are interested.
I think I need to have a movie evening now. 😉
I would never have guessed what it was. I hope you realise I have to go and make some popcorn now :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that's popcorn for you. Addictive! I've made some every day since it arrived. xx
DeleteLooks tasty and it will always be fresh when you can make little amounts at a time.Catriona
ReplyDeleteIt really is so much nicer than the kind you but in bags. Cheaper too. I have to work out some good seasonings and favouring now. xx
DeleteI thought that is what it was, but having not seen or used one of those in awhile, I wasn't sure. It looks as if you got a very good pop.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
So much faster, easier and cleaner than popping corn in a pan, I think. And as Catriona says, I can make a small amount. xx
DeleteI love popcorn, but don't have it very often. It's supposed to be good for you, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteThat is my understanding - depending on what you add to it. Plan popcorn - yes! And I do really like it too. xx
DeleteThanks Joy for info re: rotary spike thingy. Just ordered one. June
ReplyDeleteA pleasure, June. It's a neat little gizmo, isn't it?
DeleteThat's a nifty wee gadget! I have an electric popcorn maker that I bought years ago for the classroom. At the end of term we'd have a popcorn and movie reward. The kids loved making popcorn, they thought it was magic! I think I brought it with me in the move, must go look :-) xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's neat, isn't it? What a lovely idea to make popcorn with the class. It must have been such fun.
DeleteI hope you found it. xx
Clever stuff, and great for portion control 😍
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
Exactly. Just perfect for me. :-) xx
DeleteI love popcorn and have eaten it a couple of times recently. Does it taste the same as corn cooked in a pan
ReplyDeleteI think there would be a difference if usually you pop your corn in oil or butter and then don't but, as far as I can tell, dry popped corn is dry popped corn. At some point, I will try adding a little butter but right now I don't feel the need. xx
