Friday evening, 05-07-24

Evening, everyone.  Have you had a good Friday?

The parasol arrived, it works and I'm happy!  Very easy to set up although I have to work out how the tilt thing works (read the instructions!!!!).  It started raining as I took this photo so I hurriedly lowered it and it's now in the shed, waiting for sunshine and warmth.

Not the prettiest at the bottom but it will do for now!  If there was a table over, you'd not notice it anyway.  Maybe I can make some sort of cover for it.  I'll have a think.

Typical that one orders and receives a sunshade and it pours with rain.  Ho hum!!

Thanks very much, everyone, for your advice and comments.  xx

Apart from that bit of excitement (?), it's been a pretty normal Friday.  Slimming World to start the day and then the usual.  No going out, no gardening; we've had some torrential rain at times today so the raised beds have received a thorough soaking which they did rather need.
It has also felt rather cold and I almost got down one of my oodies.  Come on, Summer, you have hardly started!

Here's hoping tomorrow is nicer because there's a walk planned.

I think I will sleep well tonight.  I'm not shattered like last night but gradually relaxing and feeling increasingly ready for some shut-eye.
See you tomorrow - sleep well, all.

  1. We were considering getting a table we could eat off and a parasol for the patio. But there have been no days when it's been warm enough to eat outside. Fingers crossed you get to use yours soon.

    1. Very true re. the weather, apart from that lovely warm week in June. I have found a little wooden, fold up table with a parasol hole, just a small one like a coffee table really, which I am pondering over but it will have to wait for the end of the month so I have time to think. I'd like one of those round, tiled ones but they are heavy and, generally, don't fold up. And they come with chairs, which I don't really need or want. xx

  2. I like the color of your new parasol. It blends nicely with the other colors in your garden.

Hope you have a restful night.

    1. I really wanted green. It used to be very on trend but not so much now. The positive is that they tend to be a little bit cheaper. xx

  3. Very nice and good that it fitted the existing socket. I do hope you get good use of it once the weather improves.

    1. Semi-fits anyway. If I were a fussy girl . . . but I'm not and those wedges do the necessary really well. I like it very much - now all I need is sunshine. xx

  4. Windy and rainy here this morning but I expect there'll be breaks in the downpour. It's the local biennial carnival procession today. I bet the organisers are chewing their nails.

    1. Oh, I bet they are, what a day to choose. Our school fair was last Saturday and I bet they are so happy to have got it all over and done.
It cleared up briefly here but now it's back as hard as ever. Really wet! xx

  6. Nice parasol. It feels so strange not sitting outside in the evenings in July but it's just not warm enough!

  7. A beautiful parasol! It looks like its made of cloth, which I prefer over plastic. Very, very nice.
