Well, here I am at Potters. The weather when I started out yesterday was horrible but as I travelled up, the weather improved considerably, the sun came out and it was lovely.
Two unfortunate things - the sat nav got confused and sent us a way I hadn't planned for and then we hit several 'road closed' signs. Not to worry - we got there eventually and I am so glad I had someone else in the car.
The other was that I hadn't been well over Thursday night so was significantly short of sleep and still not feeling all that great. I excused myself from the evening's events, went to bed and have slept the clock round. I feel fine now, so that's good.
No photos yet but I found this on Facebook which will resonate with any primary teacher readers. I laughed out loud when I read it.
It's always good to start the day off with a chuckle, isn't it? xx
Pity about the journey, but you got there in the end. I'm glad you're feeling better - you've been so looking forward to this weekend, you wouldn't want it spoiled by feeling unwell and not able to join in. Have a lovely time, Joy xx
ReplyDeleteFeeling loads better now and have just enjoyed the sort of breakfast I last had at the Premier Inn - loads of different choices and unlimited amounts. I feel even better now!

Roads Closed are a problem everywhere at the moment one day last week there was only one out of three roads out of the village open.

Granddaughter told me a new one "Follow The Instructions!"
The one connected with the jumper was what I often said, rather pointlessly because how would the five year old know. "And WHY isn't your jumper, socks, trousers, tie (delete as applicable) named???"
DeleteWhat really bugs me is that the marked diversions are worse than useless! Only one out of three - that's some very bad planning!
And yes, definitely 'follow the instructions' and hit the roof when they say 'What instructions?'

Glad you're feeling better. The only one I don't understand is 'Put a wet paper towel on it', can't think of why ...

A bump, scratch, 'he touched me, miss', etc. Anything not drawing blood or so small as to be invisible to the naked eye, of which there were many!

Yep, wet paper towels have magical properties!!!!! Only one I don't say is the date one as I have a date stamp.

DeleteOh this made me chuckle. I used to 'read with the littluns' back in the day and I'd be a very rich person if I had a pound for every time I heard a teacher say any one of those things.
