An exerpt from
FOR THE FALLEN
by Lawrence Binyon

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

As important to remember now as it ever was.  Time does not change this.

  2. I like that schools are teaching the importance of the annual Remembrance Day services and that young children now take their places in the parade.

  3. As long as I've taught at NS (since around 1986) we always had a minute's silence with explanation beforehand (at an approproiate level) and a discussion afterwards. Chgildren can show great insight, can't they? I guess they had it on Friday as today is an INSET day (or maybe tomorrow). I thinjk it's so good.
