Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh

Oh, my gosh!!!  My nice, almost tidy living space.  My brain is aaaarrrrgggghhhh.

I had to empty these two big cupboards after all.  They are more 'rickety' than Ray thought.  However, it is now super dust free right along that right hand wall - and it really wasn't!
They're doing the old part first plus landing, stairs and hall.

Then I can move stuff back into the cupboards and the extension section will be easier because the sideboards will just slide away.

That chair is my space.  For now, anyway.  A direct line to the telly and with the heated throw and the crochet blanket.

What more could a girl want.

Joking apart, those two big cupboards haven't been sorted out since just after I retired and it is the ideal opportunity to really deal with what I haven't used since.  So no complains - well, not many anyway.

It'll be nice when it is done.

  1. I empathise - I hate it when we've been having work done and the house is turned upside down, I find the disorganisation and mess really stressful. I also get through it by telling myself how nice it will be when done. xx

    1. It's the only way to think, isn't it? I think once the first part has been done, most of the mess (cleared and decluttered, of course) can go away and the other part won't be nearly so bad. Ideally, they will finish part one, giving me an evening to tidy up, before starting part two. xx

  2. I feel for you! We had similar disruption in November when we had the hall, stairs, landing, bedroom, bathroom and shower room done! We slept in the lounge for some of the time. I hate the intrusion and having to get up early but…yes it was worth it in the end. What colour have you chosen?
Good luck with it all! 😁

    1. It's a Valspar one, mixed from one of their swatches. Pretty in peach. Not too pink, definitely not orange, and very Mediterranean in feel, I think.
Yours was worse than mine - far, far worse. Good to get it all done together though, isn't it? xx

  3. Keep reminding yourself that the upheaval will be worth it and remove yourself to a peaceful part of your house.

    1. You know what - it's not nice living in such a mess but all I have to do is make regular cuppas now everything has been moved. It could be an awful lot worse. And short lived. When the extension was done, I spent the summer at Mum and Dad's and it was only finally finished just before Christmas. Now that WAS stressful!
Thankfully, I was working so out of the house all day. xx

    1. Well, nothing bad so far, just quiet painting. He doesn't even have a radio on. I'm not sure if that's respect or not wanting to. I'm not asking, I'm just plodding through the decluttering and being grateful for the opportunity. :-) xx

  8. The end result will be lovely, and as you said it gives you a reason to sort out those cupboards.

    God bless.

  11. I hate my living space being in turmoil for any sort of job, but as you say a comfy chair, a direct view of the tele and a heated throw and I could cope for a couple of days. Mind you my heated throw has just stopped working, so now it's simply a throw!!

    1. Absolutely.
Shove a hot water bottle under the throw and it's heated again. :-) xx

  12. Oh…I am impressed that you are painting. I just did a lot of dusting yesterday. It makes such a difference. Your place will be fabulous soon…such a comfortable place to crochet…

    1. Oh, no - I'm not taking any credit for the work. I have Ray who is one of our local Hire a Hubby franchises. He's done work for me before and he's very good and a really nice person too.
Well done with the dusting - it does make a difference. xx
