30-12-24 and the Fifth Day of Christmas

Morning, one and all.  Sorry this is late.  I seriously overslept this morning, after a really good night's sleep.  I must have needed it and I do feel brighter this morning  now I have proper woken up.
It's been dull, damp and dismal for several days now but this morning is bright and sunny - so much more cheering, even if it does show up the state of my windows.

I didn't do much yesterday and I think that's the problem.  I need to do a bit more, get myself out of this lethargy and achieve something other than crochet.  Do you get that feeling sometimes?

The puzzle is coming on nicely.  It's harder than the previous one when each block had a defined edge pattern, but it is fun and the new board is great.
On the Fifth Day of Christmas
I gave unto myself
Jo Malone freebies
One coffee pod
And a cho-co-late liqueur
(plum flavoured today)

I'd forgotten about the freebies.  Both Beth and I like Jo Malone and there's a 'shop' in our John Lewis so it's far too easy to get there!   She (Beth, not Jo Malone) gave me some freebies and I also had some so I thought 'why not?'
Alex also gave me some as part of my Christmas pressie so I am pretty well stocked up with random stuff when you think of the M&S calendar as well.

I'm enjoying those calendar products, by the way.  The Wow shampoo and conditioner are both lovely so I looked them up on Amazon.  They are expensive, more than I would want to pay usually but, maybe, for a treat.  Having said that, it's good stuff and I don't need to use as much as my usual cheapies.
The styling cream (can't remember the brand off the top of my head) is also really good and leaves my hair feeling great.  Again - expensive.  I can see why people said the M&S calendar was 'good value' (assuming you use that sort of thing).

Well, I'm well behind myself today and I need to get myself moving again after several days of lethargy.  So I have one of my Little Lists to cover the next few days.
kitchen
washing, drying and ironing
downstairs
shopping
start freezer audit

I will leave downstairs and the shopping (just a few things for NYD as family is round) because if I do downstairs today, I will feel it needs another going over on NYD, before the family arrives.

Better shut up, get this sent and get going.  Have a good day, everyone, whatever your plans are.  Stay warm and be happy.  xx

    1. Doesn't it make a difference? I wonder how they cope in the Polar Night further North. I mean, I loved it when I was visiting this time last year but all the time for weeks on end? No, thank you. xx

    1. I think I must have, although I can't see why. However, today has been a much happier, energetic day and I feel loads better in my mind this evening, making a few plans and thinking about stuff. xx

  4. It must have been a morning for lie ins. I didn't wake up until gone seven o'clock (which is actually a lie in for me). The puzzle looks lovely - very festive! Xx

    1. Snap, Jules.
It's a nice puzzle, harder than it looks, especially the brick work. xx

  5. I’m thoroughly fed up with everything but mainly myself as I can’t seem to shake of the lurgy! We had a lovely time with our friends today and they enjoyed lunch. I am now totally exhausted and trying to stay awake. Definitely putting away Christmas decorations tomorrow-in fact I may just go and start now. Catriona

    1. Ah, be kind to yourself, Catriona. Those ;lurgies can take a long time to completely clear and the residual tiredness can be hard to shake off.
I've started sorting a few decorations although I want to leave most things until Jan 2nd and then do them in bits and bobs. xx

  6. I seem to be sleeping in a bit more often lately. It makes me feel like I have to rush through the rest of the day.

    God bless.

  7. The puzzle is coming along nicely.
I find my moods go up and down (thanking the menopause for that lol). Some days I seem to have energy, other days I just want to seem to sleep. I find that making lists does make me get moving and get things done and a nice morning walk helps to get things started!
