Morning, all.  Happy Friday to you all.

I forgot to say the other day; after I finished the cardigan, I used a random ball of ridiculously chunky yarn that I got from The Range, goodness knows why, and never used, and made this.  It needed an hour, a large hook (9.0) and some real tugging and pulling until I got the tension right but it made this.  It now sits beside my bed, holding my talc, deodorant and a few other bits and pieces and I'm ridiculously happy with it.

Online SET class was good, the chat with Chris was great, I got the shopping done and now have my month's supply of items for the Food Bank so any extra will be - er - extra!!
I finished all the washing, drying and ironing, did some sorting out and started joining the tiles together.  I don't think I'm making a very good job of it and things don't seem to fit (they should do, the counts are right) but not to worry, it will look fine once everything is together and the edging done.

Well, it's done!  The money bounced into my bank account and within a couple of hours it had bounced out again and I am now booked for a lovely holiday in Crete in 2026.  So exciting.
All I have to do now is save the money!  lol

Today looks to be another easy day with a taster session at Slimming World and then nothing in the diary all day.  Maybe I will do a bit of housework and certainly I will bake a loaf.  Usually I bake on Saturdays but tomorrow I am out for a walk so today it is.

What are your plans for this first Friday in February?  Have a good one and stay warm and safe, whatever they are.  xx

  1. That little basket is fabulous-those would make lovely gifts for Christmas or birthdays. Well done you! I am hoping to finish the 50th birthday teddy bear today and then do some thinking about which project I will do next. It’s very frosty here this morning so no gardening yet. Catriona

    1. That's a good idea, so they would. I'm very happy with it sitting beside my bed.
It's turning really cold again, isn't it?
Have fun with the birthday bear. xx

    1. I didn't think of that but, yes, they would be nice, maybe with cotton wool balls inside. xx

  3. Your little caddy is lovely and very useful. We've had sleet here and are promised snow tomorrow, though it never comes to much.

    1. It is useful and looks much nicer than having the items just standing there. I'm happy.
We've had rain and it feels so cold I am turning up the heating. xx

  4. I love the little caddy, it's a glorious colour too, no wonder you're pleased with it. Today I am taking apart old storage heaters at Mum's bungalow ... I get all the glamorous jobs. 😄 My grandson is coming through with his van one next week to take them to the tip for us and he was threatening to lift them by himself, they weigh a ton, so I've dismantled them.

    1. Oh, gosh - be careful, Sue. You have a dodgy back, don't you? I hope it's all going smoothly. xx

    1. I'm laughing. Four or five years ago, when Beth had her little Kitty Stitches business, yes, I would. Not now though - I won't want the hassle of selling, etc. But how kind of you, thank you.
I am thinking birthday presents, mind you. xx

  6. Cute basket and perfect for holding those items.
Stayed close to home and worked on my weaving. Once the sun came out I did a bit of embroidery as well.

    God bless.

    1. If I make another one, I could use it as a yarn holder, maybe. Stop those balls from rolling around the room.
I'm glad you got some embroidery done. xx

    1. Thanks. I'm already feeling excited even though it's another fourteen months or so. Silly me. I have time to think about clothes, learn a bit about Crete, maybe even think about learning words and phrases. Is it Greek - I don't even know that? xx

  8. A lovely little crochet project to use up some chunky yarn and pretty up some essential items. Brilliant that you have booked that lovely trip to Crete next year. I know you will enjoy that. Also Edinburgh will be a good break to look forward to at the end of this year. Happy holiday days ahead.

    1. thank you. I especially like the edging around the top. It felt odd, crocheting backwards. xx
