Apologies for any peculiarities with my blog - I suspect it is Blogger blips and fingers crossed they will sort things out because I have absolutely no idea whatsoever.
First of all, I finished the maple leaf squares and I'm really pleased with them. I think I now need to work on making the darker green surrounds wider and use this as a joining strategy too - I need to give it all a go and see how it looks. I can frog, if necessary - it won't waste any yarn.
I was gobsmacked to get Slimmer of the Week at Slimming World yesterday, coming home with a heavy bagful of cans, packets, fruit and veg. What a nice surprise.
(I'm definitely putting something similar on my meal plan for Sunday)
And later on Matt turned up and now I have a non dripping tap again. Very relieved about that.
All in all, a successful day! :-)
Today starts with K, my money expert, coming here for a financial review. Beth and Dave will also be here - I involve them as they may possibly have to take it all over as trustees and, certainly, after I pop my clogs. I really hope not the former but you never know, do you? Dad was always very open about his finances and it made things very much easier after he passed away.
After that's all done and dusted, the rest of the day is mine. I have cupboards to sort out, a load of washing and some ironing and a sourdough loaf to work on while Beth's load is already in Thermione, happing rising but, apart from that, I want to do some more work on the blanket.
Wishing you the best of days and let's hope the sun shines today. If you are Canada way, it sounds pretty cold there at the moment - stay warm and cosy and take care. xx

The maple leaf squares look amazing, well done. And well done for being Slimmer of the Week, just one more good thing needed ... perhaps a little win on ERNIE is due too. :-)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend. xx
Ah, I can reply again. Three cheers! Thanks, Sue - and wouldn't that be great, eh? xx
DeleteLove the maple leaves. Yes, Ontario, Canada is very very cold at the moment -22*C when I looked at the thermometer at 8:00 a.m. Just hoping the wind does not start blowing and making it feel a lot colder. On top of that we are forecast more snow tomorrow, Sunday. Well done, slimmer of the week and treats too.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, wind chill can be horrendous. Fingers crossed for you all. xx
DeleteThe maple leaves are fabulous! I needed to zoom in for a better look.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's warmer where you are, Joy. It's bitterly cold here. Xx
Thanks very much, Jules. I'm enjoying the joining as well.
DeleteIt's been quite mild here and we have had sunshine. Quite a nice day. xx
The maple blanket is a stunner. Looking forward to seeing it completed. Where will it live when it is finished? Catriona
ReplyDeleteThank you. Good question. On my bed for a while, I think and then, maybe, draped over a chair. Eventually, perhaps, in the garden room . . . xx
DeleteBeautiful blanket, well made and so quickly too! Melanie
ReplyDeleteThanks, Melanie. I've been working on it for nearly two months, I think - I started the beginning of December, in between the Christmas blanket and the cross stitch. I'm very pleased with how it is going so far. xx
DeleteThat is going to be a beautiful blanket. Love it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thanks, Jackie. I have really enjoyed making it. xx
DeleteSounds wonderful. Great that you are still making your own sourdough.
ReplyDeleteI love it. Bubbles, my starter, is now very strong and healthy and the loaf I started yesterday (Saturday) is slowly fermenting now. It's always slower in the winter. xx
DeleteThe maple squares look wonderful together and I can't wait to see them with the green edging. Congratulations on winning the Slimmer of the week. Enjoy all the goodies you brought home. Alex's Yorkshire pudding looks delicious. He seems to be doing so well with his cooking with support from you.
