Thank you for all your comments yesterday regarding yoga. They were very helpful and informative and I appreciated the advice.
The thing is, I'm not looking to start a new kind of exercise. I already do two dance aerobics, one or two circuits and personal training each week plus the occasional other class and have no wish to draw back from any of them. I just wanted something small and different, shorter and that could be done in the odd fifteen or thirty minutes at home. Going weekly to a proper class isn't really what I envisioned either in terms of time or finance.
I asked Lindsey if she did yoga at all, in case she could slot a bit into my personal training but she doesn't. She gave me a name and contact address but I'll have a talk to her (Lindsey) when I next have the chance.

Groove was really good yesterday although we were all hot and sweaty by the end. The walk back was refreshing. It was warm but there was a pleasant breeze.
The late afternoon training was very much better than expected. I should have known - Sarah and Natalie are both really good at what they do. Sarah talked about how the trust allocates the overall budget to each school in a way that even I could understand and Natalie covered the basics of how our Trust schools assess and test and what all the different data means, focusing particularly on what we, as governors, need to understand and the way we can use the data to support, question and challenge. Very, very helpful.
It wasn't entirely new to me, of course, although things have moved on since I retired, and it does sounds a lot better than previously.

I can't go to PT this afternoon so Lindsey invited me to the morning circuits class so I'll be popping off to that in a while, before doing the usual houseworky stuff.
Later this afternoon I have more governor training, this time school based. It it about Outdoor Play And Learning (OPAL), something I am interested in and it is in staff meeting time so I will be walking round to school then.
With all that going on, I had better stop rambling and get going, hadn't I? Have a lovely day and stay safe and well. xx
Hello
ReplyDeleteYou might like Yoga with Adriene. She has lots of free videos on You Tube at different levels of difficulty, Jane
Hi, Jane. That name keeps popping up. Lindsey mentioned her too, at circuits this morning. I'm definitely going to research (ie, search on YouTube) her videos. Thanks. xx
DeleteI came here to say the same thing. This is a link to a video designed for seniors that you might enjoy, Joy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFhG-ZzLNN4
DeleteHi, Janette. Thank you very much indeed. I have saved it to have a look. So appreciated. xx
DeleteIt sounds like you've had a busy day. I keep meaning to start yoga again, but much like yourself, I'm short on time, and classes can be very expensive. Xx
ReplyDeleteWell, this is the thing. In no way will I withdraw from Lindsey's wonderful classes. I am so very lucky to be able to take part is such a range of fun things. So YouTube it has to be. With care . . . xx
DeleteYou are always such a busy lady.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Sometimes . . . but I do pick and choose and, of course, I don't work outside my home (which has modern convenience in every room - not Wallace and Grommit level but still effort saving). That makes such a difference. xx
