Morning!
It's just beginning to lighten up so it's had to really tell but it looks overcast but dry for the moment - hope it stays that way as I would like to walk to SW.

Yesterday felt so busy but it was fine.  Mel come round and we caught up on life.  Then I went to Chris and ditto.  I drove over to Val's and had a lovely time - we meet up pretty much once a month and there's always plenty to talk about.
Finally, I remembered to take the tablecloths back for Andrew's SW group meeting and then did my weekly shop.

I'm pleased with how Low Spend January is going.  Now I've done my shop for the week, I should only need to do one more before the end of the month.  Also, Morrisons More card has this thing where if you spend £40 for three consecutive weeks, you get £10 in More vouchers.  I've been doing that, getting things like soap powder and loo rolls to make up the amount, not to mention the food bank donations and I've got the vouchers (it started end of December!).  I've decided that I am saving these vouchers for Christmas (sorry) and I already have one and another nearly so that's a good start!

Today, being Friday, starts with Slimming World and then I'm home until Alex calls me for an online thingy at two.  So I guess I need to catch up with housework and stuff like that.  Boring but necessary.  Perhaps I can do a bit more clearing than just ten items - that would be good.

There's not an awful lot to say today so I will love you, leave you and get on with stuff.  Take care, stay warm and have a great day.  xx

  1. Spending to save works well with stocking up household items.

  2. That sounds like a really good idea saving the vouchers. You could stock up for your years supply of regularly used things, and then sit pretty at the tale end of the year knowing you have all the basics in stock and a little wad of vouchers to spend at Christmas.

    1. The vouchers have a really long life too. They do these 'spend so much and get so much' thinks from time to time but some of them have been too much - spending £70 a week for three weeks, for instance, is a bit much so I don't bother .
It's always worth having a look at the app anyway. xx

  4. The Morrisons vouchers is what my daughter and I do so we have vouchers for our holiday in July. I couldn't get the 3 weeks at £40 so we shopped together and my daughter used her More Card. Now after the third one today, my daughter has £50 vouchers and I have £30 so hopefully we will get more as well. In 2018 we had a holiday back at North Wales where we had lived and our Morrisons vouchers then were £200 which was a big help. When we go on holiday there are 7 of us and the boys she has are now adults and eat a lot of stuff. Hope you get enough vouchers that you need at any time.

    1. If that's where you shop anyway and want to shop and as long as one doesn't go silly buying things to make up the points, I think it' a really good scheme. For me, the points usually grow quite slowly but at the moment it is good.
You do well with yours - it ,must make quite a difference. xx

  5. I love the vouchers that you get, and so wish that my small city had those. I hope you get enough to do a years stock up on some of the supplies, or that you get to have a very low spend Christmas.

    God bless.

    1. Swings and roundabouts really, isn't it, given that the money comes out of the same account whether it be supplies or Christmas stuff. Thanks, Jackie. xx

  6. That's a great deal with the vouchers. My nearest Morrisons never seems to be very well stocked, so I generally don't shop there. X

    1. Ours has its moments, I have to admit. I can't always find everything on my list but it's just round the corner so very, very convenient. xx
