Morning, everyone!
Yesterday was a day when I did what I wanted to do rather than what I ought to have done - which means I still have a little pile of ironing to clear this morning after circuits class on top of the usual Monday housework.  It won't take long, it just needs doing!

I remembered to take some photos.  None of the Christmas stuff is out of the garage yet so I just used a rather decrepit bush in the garden!

This was the one I made at the workshop.  It is biggish, about 10cm plus in diameter . . .

. . . and here's the one I made on Saturday using a size three hook instead of a four.  Pretty much identical apart from the size but the smaller one looks 'neater' somehow..

I don't like the crocheted loop though and won't do it like that any more.  I can buy some shiny cord and loop it through which should make attaching the bell and the bow a lot easier too - as will using polystyrene balls as the inside.

Different coloured ribbon or patterned ribbon would look nice and ring the changes too.

I looked up how to make a little decoration bow . . . really easy.

Today starts with Circuits class and then it is housework.  All the housework I really should have done over the weekend but didn't.
Have a great day, everyone, and I hope it doesn't get too cold where you are.  xx

  1. The baubles look fantastic, Joy. And I like the outdoorsy background - it looks like you've been yarnbombing :)
Could you possibly use some of the red ribbon as a hanging loop? Xx

    1. I could but I think it might be a bit clunky. I'll see if I can find some cord but could try the ribbon if that doesn't work.
I do like seeing yarnbombing; such fun? xx

  2. Second bauble definitely the winner for me and I agree about using cord/ribbon for the hanging loop. I’m about to blitz the bathrooms, fill the washing machine and do last week’s ironing. And it’s freezing here-thank goodness I’m not going out today so don’t need to scrape the car. Catriona

    1. Thank you - I've found another pattern so might try that at some point.
Good luck with the house stuff. A shame Mondays come round so quickly, isn't it? xx

  3. Housework is always there to be done, waiting accusingly.

    1. Isn't it just. Well it can go away now because I've done it - all that I was planning to do, anyway! :-) xx

  4. It's good to have a day doing what you actually want to do isn't it, there's nothing wrong with having a LOT more of them :-)

The baubles are really nice and your Christmas tree will look very suitable for a lady that crochets so much ... now you just have to figure out how to crochet a star for the top of the tree.

    1. It was lovely - and yes, bring them on!!
Thank you. I like them too - they will go well with some smocked ones that used to be Mum and Dad's. My tree decorations are packed with memories. xx

  5. Housework - essential but tedious 😀
I love the baubles, agree that the 2nd one just has the edge.
It's good to prioritise hobbies and interests over tasks now and again isn't it....

    1. It has to be done, or chaos reigns!
I reckon the older we get, the more that needs to happen - making the most of the time we have. :-) xx

  6. Oh, I love the baubles! I think this will be perfect for a gift for my brother and sister-in-law.
Darn housework has a habit of getting in the way of the fun stuff, doesn't it?

  7. What lovely ornaments. Perfect to decorate the house with. I do wish I knew how to crochet. I might have to find something similar in knitting.... Now I will be falling down a rabbit hole online for sure.

    God bless.

    1. I am sure that somewhere online there are instructions how to make a knitted ball - the rest is just colour and pattern really.
Or learn to crochet - it's not hard and there are loads of instruction videos on YouTube and online.
lol - rabbit holes are good!

  8. How pretty they are. What a great way to use up small oddments of yarn.

    1. Yes, it is - and it's Christmas ornaments so they can be either colour coordinated or totally gaudy and off the shelf colourful!!
In fact - might make some of the latter kind. It will be fun. xx
