Wednesday, 11-01-23

Morning, one and all.  Yesterday was another one of those days that made one feel glad to be at home.  It looked OK earlier this morning but the clouds are gathering  and it's not looking hopeful.  On the bright side, I'm really noticing the longer days now, aren't you?  It is cheering.

I'm sure you will be delighted (relieved?) to know that I got that report thingy finished and sent off.  When it came to it, there's wasn't much that needed changing; the main thing was making sure it was linked to the school's SEND action plan by referencing across.
Hopefully it will be OK and I got everything correct.  It's nice to have a clear conscience!

Groove was really good fun - lots of energy, lots of laughter.  I felt great afterwards.  Lindsey really does put her heart and soul into these classes and it shows.  We had a new member who (whom?) I already knew.  I had her daughter in my year one class a long time ago (surprise, surprise!!) and I chat to her now and again if our paths cross in Morrisons.;  She said she really enjoyed it so, hopefully, she will be back.

Today, there's not an awful lot in the diary.  I've done my Shimmy Snippet which was a short 'energiser' and this afternoon it's my personal training session to which I always look forward

Apart from that, I think I will carry on with sorting out the blue room.  It's not shocking, it is just a bit cluttered and needs sorting out.

If it isn't too cold, I will sort out what's in the front opening freezer and, maybe, even get it defrosted - it's so iced up I can't use the top drawer which is daft really.  In fact, I think I will start with that so I'd better get my act together, have my bath, get dressed and get going for the day!
All the best for today - have a good'un, everyone.  xx

    1. It's actually turned sunny and I'm right in the middle of freezer defrosting and audit. Not warm but you don't want it warm for a task like that, do you? xx

  2. Cold and grey this morning. I had a one to one exam dropped on me this morning and had I known it could have brought a book to read. I have a tickly cough and it's so hard not constantly coughing... poor student.

    1. What a shame you hadn't got something to read. Poor student, yes, but poor you too. Tickly coughs are a right nuisance. xx

    2. If I still lived in my home state…if it were not for Covid and my age and germs, I would sub several days a week. I miss everyday of teaching in classroom…teaching grands and a little student helps.

    3. I understand that. Being among the little ones is what I missed most too. I'm glad you have a bit of a substitute. xx

  5. I noticed last evening it was still just light at 5 o'clock - hurrah-
Good luck with the freezer if you decide to do it, a job I hated before we got a frost free

    1. I've just finished. I put the food back in as soon as the gauge shows zero because it's not going to thaw at that temperature and the fast freeze really is fast!

  7. I get my freezer done in about half and hour. Take the full drawers out, sit in front of the freezer on a low stool. Unplug the freezer and plug in my hair dryer. Aim first at the drawer that is stuck with ice. My freezer has a tube that fits into a groove at the bottom and melwater runs into a bowl on the floor. Very quickly ice melts wipe dry with tea towel put drawers back in switch on fast freeze nothing melts even ice cream stays frozen in a cool bag if necessary

    1. I use a fan heater on a plastic box - same thing really. Being an upright, all the ice accumulates around the top and once it gets going it's quite quick really, especially as I pull off the ice as it comes loose.
I put my stuff on a table and cover with towels and insulated stuff. Definitely a job for those winter days.

  8. I hope the freezer didn't take too long to sort out. It's the sort of job I dread doing but is never quite as hard as I think, and which I always feel slightly righteous about when it's done!

Glad you're enjoying the Shimmy Snippets. They sound like fun. xx

    1. That is exactly how I feel, Eileen. I'm so very glad it is done - at least that one is done. I have an organisational plan for the other one. :-)
They are fun and not too onerous either.

  9. Ha! I also have a blue room. :) I name the 3 rooms in my house blue, red and green. Don't ask me why. LOL
So, the blue room became my bedroom, the green one is now home office, and the red one is also known as The Black Hole where things go to disappear.

    1. lol - I like that. Sometimes I call it the guest room. The other one is the small box room and is the Dumping Ground - similar to your red room, I expect.. I'll attack it maybe next week as it really is a mess.

    1. We have had quite a lot recently but I can't complain (even though I do at times) as we were so low on water last summer.
We had that snow before Christmas but not a sniff of any more. It's unusual to get snow round here. I'm glad you haven't had all that much.
