Morning, everyone!
Thanks for the comments about Excel. I know it's no big deal in the wider scheme of things but it is to me and I'm well pleased. I can't wait for December to begin so I can use it in reality. I used to monitor my finances so strictly and it actually feels good to be getting back on top of things again.
After Slimming World (two and a half pounds off, yay), I had breakfast and then decided to stay at home and chill. I'm still feeling pretty tired a lot of the time which, I suspect, is the longer lasting after effects of the virus I had. I got the house sorted out and then got on with the C2C blanket. To my delight, I have now finished the main part and have started the border (which is going to take for ever, I can tell).
I spread it out on the floor and took this photo. It truly is random apart from a few times when I rejected one colour in favour of another. It's a bit eye aching but I knew it would be and it will be lovely and warm when (if) the colder weather ever arrives. Is it nice and sunny where you are. I know some of my Canadian readers have had snow; I hope not too much.
Take care and all the best. xx
It's been a busy week, so I've just been having a catch up with your previous posts - I am very much liking the sound of Christmas pasta.
ReplyDeleteUsing Excel sounds like a great plan for keeping your finances on track. I should really look at something like that myself, as I'm still reliant on the old style notebook method :)
Your blanket looks lovely. Xx
I like the note book, hard copy way, I just don't like all the adding up. Excel does it all for me. :-)
DeleteThe pasta is cute.
xx
My budget is small…my extra goes to grands in college or the little ones…I keep on sticky notes in checkbook..everything is subtracted at the bank anyway…I am quite frugal…I started keeping a budget on paper when I was 17…I do t need things and few clothes now that I am not in the classroom…I get few haircuts…I clean the condo everyday myself…it is simple…love your blanket and your blog..
DeleteMy accounts are a bit more complicated really and I haven't written a cheque for years. A lot of places don't take them nowadays, I gather.
DeleteAnd thank you, I'm glad you like them. xx
I write checks to the family members for birthdays and Christmas etc…I write one small one but that is all…they use their phones to deposit…
DeleteWe went walking in brilliant sunshine yesterday with a temp of 16c! Jackets tied round our waists and more of a stroll than a walk. Lovely company and coffee too. Catriona
ReplyDeleteit's so mild, isn't it. The same here and it's pleasant today too, even thought the sun comes and goes just a bit. xx
DeleteLove your blanket and the border will finish it off really nicely. I can't believe how quickly you hooked this!
ReplyDeleteI had a couple of weeks of feeling unwell and it kept me sane. :-) xx
DeleteI love your new blanket ... very colourful and it'll keep you lovely and warm.
ReplyDeleteI like to keep and eye on my finances as well. I'm pretty good at keeping to my budgets for the various aspects of life whether I monitor my spending or not but it gives me peace of mind and lets me plan for the bigger purchases and those all important treats! xx
Yes, exactly. I need to get back to that level of accountability really.
DeleteThanks - it certainly will keep me warm. The weight of it . . .
xx
Very mild and slightly sunny here, the birds were singing like it was spring this morning. Good for you getting some presents wrapped, something I must start soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the blanket progress.

They are done now and sitting at the bottom of the stairs to be taken up next time I go. It is just a bit too early to have Christmas presents hanging around.
DeleteThe blanket is striking, very bold with that bright pink splash of colour ... just what's needed on the gloomy days of Winter.
ReplyDeleteIt is rather, isn't it? Very cheering lol Thank you.
Deletexx
Love, love, love the blanket. Such striking colours.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Aw, that's lovely, thanks, Jackie. xx
DeleteOh, I like the blanket. Hopefully the border won’t be too difficult. 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you. No, it's fine. It's just taking for ever but I'm making it up as I go along really. It's 'gathering' a little bit but that's OK, it's a border so a bit of 'gather' will look fine. xx
DeleteYour blanket looks fantastic Joy and will be so cosy when the weather gets colder.
ReplyDeleteIt really will, Bev. I didn't realise it would be such a weight although I suppose I ought to have really; I knew it would gobble up the yarn. I just never thought of weight. xx
