Friday

Today's garden happy - another cucumber!  They've settled again now so there's one ready, one coming along, I gave one away and there are several tiny ones, some of which will come to nothing.
They might be oddly shaped but they do have a very fresh and delicious flavour.  Even the mega one is delicious.

Good morning, everyone.  The weather continues to play ball very nicely.  It was a mix of sunny and cloud yesterday and today will probably be the same.  Fine by me.  I can walk to Slimming World and then enjoy some leisure time in the garden!

Yesterday was great.  A good old chat with Chris and then a lovely time spent with Val, who I haven't seen since my Southwold holiday a couple of months ago.  As predicted, I was all talked out by the end of the afternoon.  It was brilliant.

Come the evening, I had a Messenger exchange with Suzanne as it's time to pay off the rest of our holiday at the end of September.  She said she is very happy to drive which is great!

Here's where we are staying.  It looks nice and shiny although I expect the lawn is not that colour.  It might be by the end of September, of course.

Because there's two of us, it's also a fair bit cheaper for a nicer place than my usual holidays.  Us singles definitely don't get a good deal when it comes to holidays.

Today there's Slimming World and then I just have to make the house cleaner-friendly which it already is, pretty much.  This afternoon, there's personal training, delayed from Wednesday and then a nice, quiet evening in.  Should be good.
Enjoy your Friday too.  xx

  2. The cucumbers look great - flavour so much better than anything in the supermarket . Holiday house looks beautiful and what amazing views . So nice that there's two of you . It certainly makes a big difference to the cost of everything. ( including petrol in that as well ) when there is two of you and you'll enjoy the company as well

    1. I'm very much looking forward to it. And yes - petrol has to be included, it materially adds to the cost nowadays. xx

  4. Enjoy your blog. That looks like a lovely place. I have not traveled since Covid began...it does not seem to end here...I did travel 1000 miles moving from near my daughter and family to my son and family March 2021...since then, Covid has hit our family...people here do not mask, vaccinate, or isolate at all it seems...they just go on as if life is the way it always was...forgetting that seniors are at risk...oh well. Keep writing...

    1. The current strain doesn't seem to be particularly nasty, thankfully. Not round here, anyway.
I'm glad you are close to your family. xx

  5. I hope your SW weigh in was okay and that you aren't too disappointed.

The holiday cottage looks lovely and I hear what you say about the way singles don't get a good deal!

Weather here has been "just right" so I hope you've had the same and have enjoyed all that you've done today xx

    1. Well, it wasn't OK but it wasn't as bad as I expected so I'm not complaining (not that I would anyway but you know what I mean!
It's been a lovely day here too, thanks.

  6. That looks like a lovely cottage Joy. We prefer UK holidays these days but the cost of fuel is getting ridiculous. For us Coach holidays are the way to go.

    1. Funny you should say that - I've just booked a four day coach thingy to York. It's the first time I've done a longer coach trip and, if I don't enjoy it, I don't need to do it again but York is one of my favourite places. xx

  7. I really need to convince Harvey to set up things for the cucumbers to climb. We did once and things were so much easier to pick.

    Enjoy your holiday.

    God bless.
