Wednesday

Good morning, everyone.  Well, we may not have had any rain yesterday but it has certainly made up for it overnight and it's still raining, breezy and rather dark.  No complaints as the garden really did need a bit of a soak but I will need to wrap up to pick the tomatoes today!

Yesterday started off very lazy, ended up very lazy but in between it was pretty active.  I didn't need to leave for Aqua until about eleven thirty and, as I like to go with cossie already on, I saw no point in getting dressed earlier - so I didn't!  I pottered and cleaned and tidied a bit but nothing much.

I really enjoyed the class.  It's been a while since I last went and, maybe it is my imagination, but it seemed much more do-able yesterday.  Maybe I'm stronger than I was then, who knows.  Anyway, I enjoyed it.

Afterwards, I popped into Matalan to look at the new range.  Maybe I have outgrown Matalan, I don't know, but there really wasn't anything I saw that I thought 'Ooooh, I'd like that'.  For a start, the colour trend still seems to be reds, yellows and oranges and the last two do absolutely nothing for me whatsoever.  Never mind, I really don't need any clothes for the winter what with last year's stuff plus what I got from Mum.

Once home, I had a very late lunch and then just pottered again.  I picked some veg, watered the garden, sorted out the kitchen and watched some telly.  Bake Off is on Tuesday's this year so I enjoyed that before retiring upstairs.

Today, I have to stay around as the car is being picked up for a service/MOT/etc.  It's going to be expensive but it should sort out the various rattles that have materialised recently as well as keeping it legal.  I've moved money across so no problems.

Beth should be round to work so that will also be pleasant.

Well, I'd better get going.  I don't expect anyone will arrive to pick the car up before about nine but I'd better be prepared.
Have a great day, wet or dry.
xx

  1. Thanks Joy, you too. Must be nice having your daughter in the house, even if she is working. How's she getting on with your quilts? xx

    1. She's not at the moment beause we had an arrangement that if she had other orders, she would fulfil them first and, at the mnoment, she does. :-)

    2. She will get on with them when she can. We have most of the materials now.

  2. We had rain overnight as well but there's a beautiful blue sky this morning so it's looking promising for some sunshine later on.

I don't like this season's colours either. Yellow and orange don't suit me and I don't like orange very much anyway. Red is my favourite colour but the clothes I've seen so far are quite an orangey red, so no good for my skin tone.

I haven't watched GBBO this time but have heard some good reviews so will have to watch it on catch up.

    1. The sun is now trying to shine here as well which is nice. I've just been out to give the tomatoes a good shake - I gather it reduces the risk of blight catching hold if you reduce the dampness.
I can wear red too - the more bluey, darker maroony kinds of red. As you say, this season's red is just too much on the orange spectrum. My best colours are the dusty pastels and they seem to be right out of fashion at the moment.

  3. Our car is in the garage today - I think it will be a sit down bill at the end! Some of the new colours are far too bright for most peoples skintones - I can wear a soft yellow and a certain orange but not the really vivid ones. Have a good day. x

    1. Mine will definitely be a sit-down one (I love that phrase). Ah, well, it has to be. Fingers crossed that yours is not as 'bad' as it might be.
I'm just a bit concerned that I've not heard from them when they will pick up yet, although I have until the end of the month for the MOT so that's OK.

  4. Lazy days can be the best! Today for me is semi-lazy. Lunch with a dear friend and chores around the house, but nothing too demanding. The sun is shining here and the weather is cooler which is quite nice. Hope today is a great day for you!

  5. Sometimes a day is just perfect when it's not so busy. That incredibly beautiful photo at the top of your blog - where is it?

    1. It's in France, southern central France in the département du Lot. I actually took it from a velux window fairly early morning after a very hot day and rain overnight! Thank you, I'm glad you like it.
