Tuesday

Hi, everyone!  The sun is shining, the windows are open and all's well with my world right now.  It turned very gloomy and humid yesterday late afternoon but nothing happened and it lightened and brightened again before bed time.  It did make me feel horribly tired, mind you, and after an evening snooze I went up earlier and had a great night's sleep!

It ended up very busy yesterday.  Shopping with Beth took way longer than expected and then I remembered that I had a boob squash examination (the routine now-and-again one) between school and tuition, luckily in one of those mobile units and very local so easy to get to.

These things are never all that comfortable but I have to say it was a darn sight less painful now that there's less to squash!  Results in a fortnight!

I'm losing another student after next week, probably.  It's the same reason; great progress and he has moved on so very well in all areas.  His parents are going to speak to his teacher first before making a final decision but I won't be the least bit surprised.  As I said to J, his mum, I'll still be here if he wants some boosters before the SATs.
So I might possibly advertise for a few more students.

Today is not so busy according to the diary but pretty busy in actual fact.  Jeff is due round in less than ten minutes to finish off the patch at the front and then I want to take the bus into town to look for bras and maybe some clothes.  I've popped some washing in and there's a load waiting so one load will be drying while I'm in town and the other washing.

However, the main thing for today is to get everything ready for Friday.  It's self catering so there's various things I want to take to avoid having to buy them there (seasonngs, herbs, spices, etc) and some equipment I always take as, from experience, they are needed.  Really sharp knives, for example, as I hate prepping with a half blunt one.  I will only take food for using up, however, as there are at least two little supermarkets within easy walk of the holiday cottage.

Also, I want to do my fifteen minutes of clear-out.  I didn't do anything yesterday as I was short of time and energy.  It's the shed still - it will take quite a while to get that sorted!  Today I want to tackle the left hand corner by the door, clear that little area, sweep and put things back neatly.

There's also some hoeing needed around the front and some weeds to scrape up at the back.

And there's tuition, but I just need to look through the existing planning and resources.

Well, better stop and deal with a rather untidy kitchen!
Have a great day.  xx

  1. Being well endowed myself, I always find the slamming of my boobs between 2 hard cold marble bookends (well, that's what it feels like) by a complete stranger quite painful. Equally unpleasant is the way they grab and (wo)manhandle you about, to get you in the right position. Still, a necessary evil. Enjoy your holiday packing!

    1. I'm sure I replied to this earlier! How odd.
It is definitely a necessary evil and I guess they get as fed up of it as we do! Mind you, if men had to be squeezed, squashed and manhandled like that, they'd soon bring out an easier way, I am totally sure.

  2. I had a terrible pain in my boob that went on for 18 months after mine and the doctors just shrugged their shoulders - has settled down now but not sure what happened to cause it and I had a lot of sleepless nights.
We always went self catering being vegetarians and always packed the necessity box which contained - a sharp knife, a good tin opener, a cheese grater (we have found rusty ones), a cutting board (don't want to use ones others have had meat on, a clean jug (that is since I knew someone who did their urine samples in their jug!), a midsized saucepan with a good fitting lid (we have often found all self catering places have non stick but sometimes poor quality with flaking teflon inside)our saucepan also has a steamer that slots into it, and finally a tablecloth to protect anyones prize table. Everything was fitted neatly into a little square box a cross between the Krypton factor and Mary Poppins bag!
    Enjoy the day. x

    1. Some bruising, perhaps, but how unpleasant for you. :-(
I positively enjioyt aself catering - it's nice to be your own person and just catering for myself is no hassle whatsoever. I love your survival box which must have TARDIS qualities about it!

  3. Ooh, you are lucky to still have a mobile unit, we have one 'clinic' in a multi-storey block that serves the whole city and there is absolutely no parking. They can do two 'dying swans' at a time but the whole 'outing' took me 1.5-2 hours door to door! It was so much easier in the mobile unit at one of the Supermarket car parks, in and out in 15 mins.

It must be sad to say goodbye to your students but so rewarding to help them progress and let them fledge.

    1. It's fairly new, I think. I used to have to go into town, quite a walk from the (expensive-ish) car parking and a right nuisance really, especially when I was working.
It is rewarding, you are right. A great feeling.

  4. I can miss my next boob squash because I had that emergency one earlier this year and have been told it's okay to cancel and wait for the one in three years time. It's a horrible but necessary experience, but I do feel for you. Fingers are crossed for a clear result.

    1. I think everyone feels like that. It's a shame that something so necessary should arouse negativity but maybe anything to do with private bits does the same. I never like having the cirvical cancer check either.
