Good morning, everyone. It was a dull, gloomy but dry day yesterday and I gather today is likely to be the same but perhaps a bit warmer. No rain is definitely good!
Yesterday went as planned. I had a nice brisk walk to Tesco to get a few vegetables and in the afternoon all three of us could be found, flat out, snoozing in the warm living room!
The decorations are now down and everything is back to normal again. I just have to take the boxes back up into the attic, something I will do today when I wear jeans rather than the long skirt I had on yesterday which was highly impractical for an attic ladder!
Today is cooking, ironing and anything else that needs to be done. I might get a walk in after lunch; we'll see how things are.
Have a lovely day, whatever you have planned.

Sounds like a pottering sort of day. Just what is needed after a busy Christmas. I will be sewing a costume for my granddaughter who has a partin a school play. She is a medieval lady so I am repurposing a long velvet skirt I made for fancy dress for me years back and using a couple of yards of pale gold lining material to make the long bell sleeves. Ijust need to think about a headdress for her.
ReplyDeleteApart from that it’s just the usual sort of Sunday with a late afternoon choir practice.
Enjoy your day.
What fun go make such a lovely costume. Is the headdress a glorified wizards hat with draped gauzy fabric? I loved those as a little girl.
DeleteHave an enjoyable time. :-)

I do like days such as these. Getting on top of any jobs which need doing is what I am hoping for today, followed by a leisurely walk after lunch and I'm going to make some flapjack.
ReplyDeleteGetting back to normal would be good. Sadly, since having been thrown a curve ball in the New Year, I'm not sure what normal will be for us now, but I'm sure we'll pull through. X
I'm sorry to read that 'stuff' has headed your way that is stopping you from having a 'normal' life. Making flapjacks sounds good though - eating them also!
DeleteMuch love

Once everything is put back away and a bit of a clean up it feels like a nice fresh start. Hope you are careful on the step ladder!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day - we had another really late night after our guests left in the early hours so I am still coming round!
I will be, thanks. I'm going up and Dad is handing the boxes to me. Fortunately, they're none of them heavy so it's a straightforward task.
DeleteHave a restful day after your late night!

Your day sounds like mine. Took down the Christmas decor. Things need to go into our attic as well! (Just to let you know, I clicked on a link on your blog and it took me to a dodgy site. So that's weird. Oh well.) Happy new year.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it does sometimes and it's a right paion. Blogger doesn't seem interesting in helping. I just close it down really quickly and my blog is still there behind it. Really annoying and I do apologise.

Do take care on the ladder, Joy! Jeans yes, skirt no. But you have been busy. WE have also removed all vestiges of Christmas and then, late last night, I mentioned to husband we've not removed the wreath from the front door and if we left it up, we had to leave it up until Candlemas (whenever that is!) Not that I hold with these dates because Christmas is really a moveable feast, no one knows when Jesus was actually born, do they? But he duly took it down. Seemed a shame as it was still looking perfectly OK, so sorry to see it go.
ReplyDeleteAs with Suz Korb, I clicked to leave a comment and at first it went to the dodgy site. Quickly switched that off.
If I've not said it before, Joy, Happy New Year!

My apologies to you too, Margaret. So annoying for everyone.
DeleteHappy new year to you both! I was sorry to take down the wreath too - it brightened up the doorway so well.

A pottering sort of days sounds just perfect. It's dry but cold and grey here so I'm just pretending that the outside doesn't exist and have closed the curtains early to make the room feel snug and cosy.
ReplyDeleteVery wise! It was that sort of day, for sure.
