Saturday evening, 02-11-24

Hello again, lovely people.  Are you having a good weekend.  I do hope so.

It has been a quiet day here today.  I did some housework, some kitchen work, no ironing (must do it tomorrow) and worked to finish a crochet cardigan.
Have any of you heard of a hexa-cardigan.  It is basically a cardigan that starts out as two granny hexagons that you add to.
Hang on, let's see if I can find a photo.

The one I have made looks nothing like this but you get the idea.  You granny stitch a hexagon and the way you fold it makes half a cardigan,  You make two (obviously) and can than lengthen the sleeves and the body, stitch cuffs and an edging and . . . there you go.

I'll try and take a photo of mine tomorrow.

And that is about it really.  I am off to bed soon so I will wish you good night and sleep well.  I hope you have had a really lovely day.  xx

    1. Yes, it is cosy and feels comfortable. It's pretty chunky because of the yarn I used but also nice and soft which is unusual for random cheap yarn. I'm going to wear it today, Sunday. Hopefully it will be as comfortable as it feels. xx

    1. Yes - I was so intrigued I had to give it a go. Interestingly, it works for all sizes, ages, yearns (chunky is faster, of course) - I was really curious. xx

  3. I made a hexi cardigan for my granddaughter - it took a while to figure out the mechanics! Nicky

    1. Know what you mean. It's almost magical, isn't it, the way you just fold it a certain way and lo and behold . . . half a cardigan appears. xx

  5. That is an ingenious idea, I look forward to seeing your colour scheme. It would make a lovely bed jacket wouldn't it, as it's such a simple and open design.

    1. Oh, it is lurid random. I used a sort of self striping yarn that was super cheap from B&M because I really didn't know if it would work and I felt guilty enough about spending the money on an off chance. ;-)
